“I love you.” Those are the three words every girl wants to hear from her prince charming. But those three words weren’t given to me by my prince charming. They were from my best friend. Those were the three words that had ruined my friendship with my best friend Sam. Not that I wasn’t flattered by him confessing his love for me. I just didn’t think of him that way.
I might have at first, but they faded away after time. There are tons of movies where a guy and a girl are the best of friends and then as the years roll by, they both realize they like each other more then friends. And they both don’t know if they should tell the other because they aren’t sure if the other feels the same way. Then in the end, they both find out in this complicated way, and they realize they are meant for each other. So, they get together and they live happily ever after…
Well that’s sort of like mine and Sam’s story.
Except we don’t live happily ever after. It’s a really long story and I’ve been confused and trying to figure out how everything happened the way it did. Well you wouldn’t get it unless I started from the beginning.
The day I met Samuel Canter…
Well it wasn’t the best days for the first day of school. The sky looked like it was crying since it was raining so hard. The streets were foggy and the mood was just disgusting.
First days of school were supposed to be exciting where you’re nervous that you might not have the same lunch period as your friends and your psyched to wear and show off your new outfit that you’ve worked so hard to put together.
To flirt with all the cuties that you’ve missed during the summer and to catch up on the gossip with all your friends. Today didn’t seem all that exciting. My best friend Irene moved to California in the beginning of the summer, which was a total cry fest. So I was flying solo this year. Last year was scary and nerve-wrecking since I was a freshman.
I didn’t know what to expect, but since it was my second year in New Thorp High school, I knew what I was up against.
“Carly, you’re going to miss the bus if you don’t hurry up,” I heard my mom yell from the kitchen.
“I’m almost done,” I yelled back. I sprayed the new perfume I had bought the other day, Princess by Vera Wang, grabbed my purse, books, umbrella, and dashed out of my house praying to God not one drop of rain would land on my perfectly straightened hair.
The moment I got took my seat on the bus; I searched for my mini-mirror in my purse. I found it buried under all my beauty products. I pulled it open and checked if my hair looked as bad as I thought it did. To my luck, it wasn’t. I looked just as I had left my house. I smiled to myself knowing that Cameron Phillips would defiantly pay me some attention today. He is the hottest guy that I’ve ever laid my eyes on.
He was in all my classes last year. He sat next to me in every class since he came right after me in the alphabet. Not everybody would think he’s as hot as I claim he is. People would say he’s average.
He has short brown hair where it sometimes went over his eyes. His eyes…
OMG, his eyes were amazing. His deep blue eyes were the reason I failed Living Environment. But that’s another story I’ll have to tell some other time. But he still was the hottest guy ever. He’s sweet too. He wasn’t one of those guys who thought they were the center of the universe. He was a down to earth guy. That’s what I loved about him. I’ve had a crush on him ever since freshman year. That’s why I’ve planned extra hard to get his attention this year. I applied some lip-gloss giving them that extra glossy shine.
Little did I know that something else was planned for me this year. “Is this seat taken,” I heard a voice ask. I looked up from my mirror and saw a green eyed cutie. My eyes scanned his body.
Jet black hair.
5’7’.
Great body.
Carly likes.
“No it’s not,” I said giving him my best smile. He sat down next to me and looked at his watch. I noticed his hair was wet, like he had just gotten out of the shower, or was it the rain? I couldn’t tell.
“My name is Samuel, Sam for short,” he said holding out his hand. Aww, he shakes peoples hands when he introduces himself. How cute.
“I’m Caroline, Carly for short,” I said shaking his hand. Just by shaking his hand, I knew he worked out. His grip was strong which was very sexy.
“It’s nice to meet you,” he said smiling at me for the first time. Even his smile was perfect. His teeth were pearly white, and a big dimple appeared on his right cheek.
“Do you live around here, because I don’t think I’ve seen you before,” I said.
“Well, I just moved here this summer from California, my dad got transferred here,” he explained.
“It’s my first say in New Thorp. To tell you the truth I’m a little nervous,” he went on glancing at his watch.
Coincidence? You tell me.
“I go there too,” I said trying not to sound too excited.
“Really? Wow, I’m glad I have someone to show me around,” he winked.
If I hadn’t already pledged to be Cameron’s girlfriend by the end of the semester, I would have defiantly went for this guy.
