"Aleta time for bed" My mother said as she entered my room. My dad came in after her. "Did you enjoy your birthday sweetpea?" he asked.
I looked at them. My mother pitch black hair was softly on her shoulders, she wore a floral dress witch complimented her sun kissed skin. My father wore black slacks and a light blue button up shirt and the sleeves were rolled up so it showed his dark tan. He had pitch black hair as well. My parents both had deep blue eyes. In a poorly lit room they looked black, in a well lit room they look the color of the ocean.
" Yes Dad." I replied
" Well honey next year is your 18th birthday, I don't know if we can top this one." my mother said with a sarcastic tone.
"Don't remind me that next year she will graduating and heading off to college" my father said with a sigh.
"Common lets let Aleta sleep, she has school tomorrow" my mother said as she left my room. My father kissed my forehead and left and closed the door behind him.
I laid my head down, closed my eyes. My heart told me to run, to get up and run. That danger was coming. A voice in my head told me that my parents would never see daylight again. But my mind pushed that feeling away. It was all nonsense. They sleep just down the hall.
