My Life As Bitch.

Novel By: MidnightDarkAngel
Young adult

You think that I'm one of the girls who's not inside the popular circle?

Or the nerdy one who's going to have a 'hottie' for a boyfriend?

You think that I'm the girl that's always being mistreated in a story?

Well, you're absolutely wrong.

I'm the pain in your ass. The fly in your house.
The pebble in your shoe. The 'deal' in high school.
The 'typical barbie'. The 'it' girl.
For short, I'm the bitch.
You read right. THE BITCH.

~ Vega Family Ball (Part II)

She let out breath and shook her head slowly. She looked like she was on the verge of tears. At first, I didn’t do anything except stare. My past life flashed before my eyes and I remembered the days where I was still… me. She engulfed me in a tight hug while I just stood there, with my arms lifeless by my side. She seemed to realize the effort I was giving in the hug so she pulled away before beaming at me.

“Look at you Kirst!” Camille exclaimed. “You look so different!”

My lips tightened into a straight thin line and my composure turned sour. The wall that was slowly breaking away stood even more unyielding than it did before.

“I changed.” I simply said.

“I can see that!” She was still smiling like there’s no tomorrow. “You look so different without your—”

“I know Camille.” I snapped. She looked taken aback my attitude but I didn’t let that get me. My old life’s my past. And past IS past. “You don’t need to bring it up.”

She bit her lip silently and looked down the floor. Her hair was tied in a bun but a few strands fell around her face. She really looked different. She lost pounds, her hair was thicker, she ditched the braces and her pimples were nothing but a memory. Looking at her, seeing her like this, it made me think about all I’ve done. All I’ve been doing. And like what Mason did, she made me regret it.

NO, I firmly thought.

I won’t let it get to me. I just simply won’t. I won’t be turned into my old self. I’m happy as I am. It’s my life and I make my own decisions. Nothing’s ever going to make me go back to that person I once was. A light nudge on my arm made me look at her.

“Look,” She pointed to where Mason was standing, laughing and talking with Tom and Tiffany. “There’s Mason and Tiffany.”

I narrowed my eyes slightly as Tiffany kissed Tom’s neck and met my eyes. My head reeled with disgust and I knew I had to get away. To find a distraction. I tilted my chin up and kept my gaze on Tiffany’s back.

“You still have a crush on Farley?” I asked. I glanced at her before looking away. She looked at me with confused eyes.

“You never call Mason by his last name.” She stated out the obvious. I rolled my eyes and gave her a ‘look’. “Uh, I guess. But no, not really. I still find him attractive though.”

I wanted to grin at her and tease her about it but alas, my bitchy side won over again. My face created a very bored expression and I pulled out my phone and the paper where Dante’s number was on before saving it on my phone and texting him.

You busy? Meet me outside. ASAP.

I waited for a few seconds before my phone beeped and a message popped on screen.

And this is?

I bit back a giggle before calling him up. He answered on the first ring and I can say that he was annoyed. Camille looked at me with raised eyebrows but I easily ignored her.

“Look. Where the hell did you get my number?” He growled down the phone.

“I believe you gave it to me.” I stated with a smile.

“Kirsten?” I had to laugh. He sounded so shocked.

“Well, duh.” He laughed lightly. “So, anywhere particular we can meet?”

He thought about it for a second before replying, “Okay, I just have to say this. I don’t do commitment and relationships—”

“Hold up.” I said with a raised brow. “I did not bang you just so I can have a boyfriend. I don’t do commitment so we’re all good. We’re just screwing around to keep ourselves entertained okay?”

“Okay then. Now that that’s cleared up, I’ll just send you a text about the details where and when we can meet.”

“Alright. Bye.”

“Bye.”

I faced Camille and her brows were furrowed. My composure faltered for a second but I brushed it off. Footsteps neared us and I turned to my side to see Tiffany there smiling at Camille and sneering at me. Camille instantly brightened up and she wrapped her arms around Tiffany like they’re old best friends.

“Hey Tiffany!” She said. “This is Kirsten.”

My eyes narrowed into slits as Tiffany sneered at me again. My eyes fumed with anger and jealousy as she linked her arms with Camille.

“Hi Kirsten.” She looked over her shoulder and looked back to me. “Well, it was… fun but I have to go.” She turned to Camille and a fake smile appeared on her face. “It’s nice to see you Cams.” She faced me with a smirk. “Nice to meet you Kirsten.”

And as soon as she walked away I muttered, “”Bitch.”

Camille gasped and stared at me with wide eyes. “Excuse me but that girl you called a bitch happens to be my friend.” She looked at me with disappointment in her eyes; she shook her head and put a hand to her hip. “You know, when Mason said you changed, I didn’t believe him.” She looked at the ground before looking up at me and I was shocked to see tears in her eyes. “My mistake.”

Of course, I did what I had to do. I had to stop the tears that were coming to my eyes fall. I put on a façade that looked real. My eyes hardened and my lips curled into a sneer.

“Glad to know that you finally realized that.” I cocked my head to the side and without another word, I walked away.

“Ah, girls, girls. Here’s the performance we’ve all been waiting for.” The host on the stage announced. It’s been an hour since I last saw Camille and as soon as I found a place where it was near the stage and nearly isolated, the show started. And 50 minutes later, after tons of singing, dancing and acting, the host that looks like she was only 22 announced that this was the last performance and then—FINALLY!—we can all go home. “Please give a round of applause for… Dark Enigma!!!”

I will be forever deaf. My ears hurt with all that shouting and screaming and squeals. The isolated part where I was silently standing on while texting Lily became the crowded one and I felt like I’m was going to die. My ears hurt and all that body cramping in the tiny space made it hard to breath and DAMN IT, I’m claustrophobic!

I gasped for air as I pushed my way out of the crowd. What the hell was the deal with this so called ‘Dark Enigma’. My hair stuck to my face because of the cold sweat running down my body. My lungs needed air and I was gasping for it. I pushed all the body I could and I finally stumbled out of the screaming girls. But on the way out the crowd, I tripped on a foot and I fell forward.

Fortunately, strong pair of arms caught me. I let out a breath of relief and my chest heaved as I gripped the arms that caught me. I tried to get my breath back and I was pulled up. My eyes snapped up to my ‘savior’ and my breath hitched as I stared into a pair of intoxicating blue eyes. It looked… worried. Blood rushed to my cheeks and I immediately looked down.

“Are you okay?” Oh god. His voice…

I swallowed and I looked up with tired eyes. And truly, I am tired. I didn’t want to get sucked back in those eyes so I avoided them. Instead, I surveyed his face. Oh my god. I am facing one heck of a guy. Oh no…

“I-I’m okay.” Hell… I stuttered! “Thanks.”

He looked genuinely worried before he glanced over his shoulder and gave me a small hint of a smile.

“What happened to you?”

I sucked in a handful of air before glaring at the stage where the girls are now fighting over. I licked my dry lips before looking back at him and giving him a look full of distaste.

“That stupid ‘Dark Enigma’ group.” I rolled my eyes. His eyes glinted in amusement but I shook it off.

“What did they do to you?” He asked, he clearly sounded amused. I tilted my head slightly to the side.

“They got called by the host and the girls started rushing to where I was hiding near the stage and it was so crowded!” I threw my hands up and let out a breath angrily. “I’m claustrophobic.”

His confused expression cleared and an understanding gaze fell upon his eyes. And just then, the lights dimmed a spotlight lighted the middle of the stage. He looked at me before saying, “I’m Leo.”

A small hesitant smile danced upon my lips before taking the hand he was offering, his large hands molded with mine perfectly.

“Kirsten.” He gave me a nod before letting go and raising the microphone to his lips—WHAT THE?!!

My eyes widened as 3 boys appeared on the started humming the melody of the song. He looked back at me and so much to my horror he smiled slightly and bowing slightly before humming along with the others. My eyes are wide as saucers and my heart beat loudly against my chest. I know the song that they were singing. I… I… That was my song for… him. Only instead of ‘I Though She Knew’, I made it into ‘I Thought He Knew’.

She was my once in a lifetime

Happy ending come true

Oh I guess I should have told her

But I thought she knew

My breath caught once again as I watched the girls parted like the red sea for Leo while he sang. And boy, he could sing! As he sang the first verse, I swear my heart ached all over again. The way he sang it… It seemed as if he’s really experiencing what kind of pain the song’s trying to relay. And when he joined the others on the stage, my heart nearly stopped at the sight of his face. Well, his face was a mask of blank. No emotion played on it. But when I met his eyes, I could feel what he was going through.

It was as if… he’s really dedicating this song to someone. Tears started to brim my eyes and I had to look away. But just my luck, the eyes that I met was the boy who of course, I was dedicating my song to. His eyes were wide and it broke my heart to see that he was regretting everything he did. Just one look and I knew what it meant, ‘I’m sorry’.

I thought she knew

My world revolved around her
My love light burns for her alone
But she couldn't see the flame
Only myself to blame
I should have known
I should have known

My heart ached again as Leo sang the chorus. My throat constricted and my heart felt like a stress ball being squeezed so tight. I couldn’t breathe properly. My gaze turned misty and I whirled around and just ran like hell. The tears fell from my eyes and ran down my cheeks, I slammed the bathroom door shut but the song still entered freely into the bathroom, consuming my thoughts. I slid down door and on the floor. Sobs raked my chest and I felt horrible.

Every single time I hear this song… all the pain he left with me consumed me all over again. The pain when he walked away to be with her. Loud sobs that made my chest hurt continued on raking my body.

A heart full of words left unspoken
Now that we're through
I'd sell my soul to have this silence broken
Oh I thought she knew
I thought she knew

Memories consumed me all over again. Tom’s face appeared in my mind and I went back to the time where I thought that he was the one. The words I believed that came from his mouth. The kisses, the hugs that we shared. It all ran back to my mind like a fast forward movie. It flashed before my eyes until it stopped as the memory I hated the most appeared.

My body shook with the silent sobs that came out of me. It was raining. Hard. My knees gave up and it slammed against the pavement of the parking lot.

“Why?” I whispered to myself.

I saw the whole damn thing. I watched the whole thing. She just… She took him away from me. Just like that. He played with my mind… my heart. I replayed back. Back to the moment where he broke up with me just moments ago.

“I’m sorry, peanut.” He had said. “But… I love someone else…”

And of course, I slapped him. Hard. I could still remember the look on his face as he walked away. And the look on her face as she saw him walking towards her. My heart felt like it was ripped out of my chest and was toyed like a soccer ball. And I witnessed it. I watched it all. How he twirled her under the rain. How he kissed her under the rain. How he… How he told her that he was freaking glad that she came to his life to break him away from me. My world crumbled apart and… and I just… cried.

Louder and more heart wrenching and chest hurting kind of sobs erupted from me. I’ve never ever cried like this before. Well, there was only one time I did cry like hell, it was when he broke up with me. When he didn’t even look back and make sure I was gone before kissing her, hugging her and fucking telling her that he loved her.

“I hate you, Thomas Klent.” I gasped out.

But if I hated him that much, then why the hell am I crying over that stupid piece of douche? I furiously wiped the tears away from my face and stood up. I walked over the counter and stared at my reflection. My hair was a mess and my eyes were bloodshot. As soon as the song ended, I splashed cold water on my face and stayed in the bathroom for five minutes before covering up my badly-worn out face with make-up.

+ + + + +

When I walked out the bathroom, I looked fabulous. But my heart still ached. The after math was… unbearable. Stupid song, I thought angrily. My hair was tied into a ponytail and the hickey that Dante gave me was nicely covered up with make-up along with the signs of crying. The room still held tons of students but the stage was already being torn down. My mood instantly brightened as I scanned the room and there was no sign of Iliana. I grinned evilly before turning around and—Damn it.

Iliana stood there in front of me with a very unfriendly and unwelcoming expression. She looked as furious as hell. But when she looked at me straight in the eyes, her eyes widened slightly before turning hard and mean again. She grabbed my arm and started pulling me up the stairs.

“What the hell Iliana!” I hissed.

“Where have you been?” She asked.

“The bathroom! Sheesh! Can’t I even pee, mother?” I rolled my eyes as she finally let go of me and opening one of the doors of the French doors. We entered side by side in a space-y room that had a mini stage at the corner, a little modern looking lounge with bean bags stood before the mini stage and refrigerators devoured the other side. But what caught my eyes are the boys that was sitting there, laughing and talking amongst themselves.

Oh GodI thought. I closed my eyes briefly before planting a very bored expression on my face and inspected my nails. I knew that I looked extremely bored but on the inside, my heart was beating wildly. I know—well, knew—these guys.

“I found her.” Iliana declared.

The guys shot up from their seat except one and I recognized him—Leo. I kept my expression a very irritated one. Two guys took a step forward and my name came out from their mouth but I ignored them. I turned to Iliana and… of course. Ugh.

This day couldn’t just get any worse. Camille and Mason stood there with Dark Enigma and of course, Tiffany and Tom. I put a hand to my hip and glared at Iliana.

“You said you’d get me a flight back home tonight.”

She narrowed her eyes at me before holding up a plane ticket. I smirked and walked over to where she is and grabbed the ticket before shoving it in my purse.

“Okay, now I’ll leave you guys.” She looked at Mason with a pointed look. “Take charge.”

I watched as she walked away and slammed the door shut. I took a deep breath before facing my worst nightmare.

“Kirsten.” Tiffany broke the awkward silence. “How are you?”

My face hardened and I gave her a smile that said ‘like-you-care’ before walking over the counter and leaning against it. “Just peachy.”

“So…” Camille suddenly said. “Headmaster Dickson said that you’re going to play for Dark Enigma.”

Once again for the thousandth time this evening, my eyes narrowed into thin slits. My mouth turned into a grim line and I crossed my arm over my chest.

“Hell no.” I rolled my eyes before staring and inspecting my nails. An awkward silence fell upon us but leave it to Camille to break it. She skipped towards me before hesitated on whether she should grab my hand or stand beside me. She took the smartest gesture and just stood half a meter away from me. She pointed to the now-sitting boys of Dark Enigma.

“Remember the guys?” She whispered to me sadly. I kept my face neutral as she pointed to a guy with dark hair that curled around his face in flips and such with a fringe that covered his forehead—Mark. “Remember Mark? Mark Tanner?”

He got up from his seat and held wrapped his arms around me in a tight hug. My eyes grew wide and my jaw dropped. I missed his warm hugs. But of course, I didn’t let that get to me. Instead of returning the hug, I willed myself to remain still and rigid.

“Remember me Beethoven?” My throat closed up as he used their nickname for me.

“Yeah…” I murmured in return.

A hand pulled me towards my left and I collided with someone. I already knew who it was. Judging by the loudness of his voice—it’s Hayden.

“BEETHOVEN!!!” He shouted and hugged me tightly, making it hard for me to breathe.

“Ha… Ha….” My mouth twitched as I pushed him away slightly. But as I backed away from Hayden, I bumped into yet another dude. Wow, I never thought I’d hate the presence of guys again.

“Oh god…” I muttered under my breath as Kyle Sinners smiled brightly at me.

Thankfully, Camille now pointed towards Leo who seemed to be scrutinizing me. His eyes looked confused but as soon as he realized that I was also looking at him, the confusion vanished away and was replaced by a distant look—like Iliana’s emotionless face.

“And you probably don’t know him because he’s new—“ I cut her off with a ‘duh’ to which she glared at and gestured to Leo politely. “His name is Leonidas Bellum. You can call him Leo.”

Leo made a small nod before looking away and drumming his fingers against his lap. I tried to hide the annoyance in my eyes. Didn’t he recognize me? Whatever. I pushed the thought away. He’s not even worth it.

My lips pursed and I looked at Tiffany pointedly. She was walking towards me and she threaded her arm through mine. My eyes hardened and if looks could kill, she would be dead by now.

“Oooh… You got almost five guys running after you now huh. You must be so fucking ecstatic.” She strategically whispered to me without anyone noticing.

“Get. Your. Hands. Off. Of. Me. You bitch.” The words went out of my mouth before I could stop it.

Camille—who was just standing beside me talking to Mark—gasped and whirled me around sharply. “What the heck Kirsten?! Tiff didn’t do anything bad to you!”

By now, Mason stepped up beside her, his eyes flaming with rage. The guys were completely clueless to what was happening and was now crowding around us—except Tom. His eyes once again, says it all; ‘sorry’. I shook her off furiously and laughed. It was the kind of laugh that made goose bumps all over your body.

“You don’t know me anymore. You don’t know what I’ve been through all because of that bitch that’s standing right there.” I whipped my head around and glared at Tiffany who sneered.

“Me?” She said innocently. “What did I do to you?” Her hand curled possessively around Tom and it only made me more furious than before. Oh god, I think I’m having PMS.

“You...” I advanced towards her slowly. Making sure she got the message. “You fucking stealer!” My eyes turned cold and my hand twitched as I ached to connect my hand with her cheek.

“Stealer? Me?” She said again. Her eyes glinted in evil amusement. “You’re the slut that slept—oops, I mean sleeps with every freaking male that walks! And now you have the guts to call me a stealer?”

My mouth formed into a big ‘o’ and my eyes were wide as saucers. I advanced towards her and she advanced towards me. And like the guys finally had their brains back, they flashed into action. Tom and Kyle grabbed her, Mark and Hayden grabbed me while Mason and Camille came in between us.

“Stop it will you!” Mason said to both of us. Camille conversed with Tiffany with silent hushed tones but it was clear that they were arguing. Mason glared at me and pulled out his phone. “I never thought you’d go this far Kirsten.”

I opened my mouth to reply and ask what he means by that but Tiffany’s laughter made me send daggers to her. “She’d go far worst than this. After all, she is an evil mean bitch slash slut slash bully.”

I jerked my arm away from the Hayden and Mark and glared at her once again before leaning toward her and slapped her hard. Everyone was stunned. Even Tiffany. The echo of the impact bounced across the room. I have to admit it, it felt good. This was the first time I slapped her. And of course, I was feeling giddy and happy and proud on the inside. She gasped and a hand flew to her reddened cheek. Her face was turned sideways and an evil satisfied smile appeared on my face.

“Let me ask you a question bitch.” I hissed at her. “Who made me into this?”

A/N.:

Hahaha! Okay. So MORE drama huh? Well, don’t worry. The DRAMA will be more heated and the ROMANCE will soon start. :D Sorry if the chapter’s kind of confusing to other people. :] But can you guys guess why they call Kirsten Beethoven??? :D I will be looking forward to all of your replies!

Character pictures are up if you want to know what the other looks like.

Do I see comments coming my way? Please do comment. Thanks for reading! >:D<
