It was raining now; I still sat on the curb Brooke’s voice ringing in my ear. It was like I was in total and utter shock. How could my friend do this to me? I hung up now, hoping this was a dream I was living and if I pinched myself I would wake up.
In my head I was concocting en evil plan, I knew I shouldn’t do it but you just don’t understand how furious I was. Instead of turning back and lighting Joey’s ass on fire, I drove back home.
I sat in my room laying on the bed then suddenly like I was possessed I reached for my jacket and ran out to my car. It was like I had no control over my body, it just did what it wanted.
I was speeding down the street, where was I going? I didn’t even know. I pulled up into Joey’s driveway. His mother wasn’t home, but I saw a car in his driveway that looked quite familiar. It was that backstabbing Brooke’s.
I saw them both come out the house and I sprinted towards her.
“Really? You’re going to betray me like that? You frickin’ slut!”
She gasped as if she was the one hurt by my words. “You don’t know how to treat him! What was I supposed to do?”
“I thought you were my friend, I knew you were only good for one thing and that was lying on your back!”
Her voice rose.”Really Briella? Your such a little dramatic bitch who can’t keep your man, well guess what I have him.”
“Brooke, Kim—“
“You shut the hell up!” I pointed at Joey yelling.
“See! My point exactly, your nothing to him okay? So leave Kim we don’t want you here.”
My hands lounged for her neck and i hit her in the back of her head. Joey stepped in between us and pulled me away, my legs kicking in the air as I try to grab for her again.
“Let me go!” I screamed as he released me, Brooke standing on the porch her hands around her head.
“Don’t act like your hurt! I’m not stupid don’t try to pull that shit with me, Brooke.”
She turned towards Joey.”It’s either me or her?”
He answered instantly.”Kimmi.”
A tear rolled down her face and she stormed down the porch and got in her car and drove off.
My stare now beaming on Joey.”Did you sleep with her?”
“Why are you—“
“Did you or did you not sleep with her Joey? It’s a simple question now answer it!”
People started to crowd around us now, I knew I was making a scene, but was I wrong for doing that?
“Yes.” His voice lowered.
I shook my head and started to cry.
“I’m so sorry Kim—“he grasped my arm and tried to pull me closer.
“Don’t touch me you cheating bastard!” I snatched away from him and his face began to see angry.
“Kim, don’t test me right now.”
“Or what!” I screamed so loud I wanted everyone to hear me.”What your going to hit me Joey? Do it! I dare you, so everyone can witness the punk you are!”
“Kim keep quiet!”
“Don’t touch me!” I yanked away from him again.
“Kim—“
“Stop!” And I smacked him, so hard I could hear it echo beyond the houses and fields.”You can rot in hell for all I care.”
“Get back here!” He yelled after me as I slipped into my car.
“Fuck you!”
“Kim come back here!” his muffled scream didn’t stop me from trying to leave, and when he walked in front of my car I immediately accelerated hoping I could run him over. But he ran to the side and I turned down the street, his face blank and surprised.
And even though I might’ve seemed I was done with him completely, I knew I couldn’t leave him alone for to long. After all he did pick me instead of Brooke.
Do I sound like a fool right now?
I did didn’t i? But what was I supposed to do?
---------------
“How was your weekend?”
If only I could get out of this somehow I would be so happy.
“Fine.”
“Did you have fun?”
I nodded.
“So your mom tells me you and Joey had a little argument.”
“My mother doesn’t know a thing.”
She shook her head while writing on a little notepad.
“What are you writing down?” I asked while trying to take a peek.
“I’m assigning you to another person; she’s a little stricter than I am.”
I sighed.”Another therapist.”
“I’m afraid so.”
I looked at my watch.”I’m afraid it’s time for me to leave.”
I checked through my phone as I walked down the hall.
5 missed calls: Joey.
1 missed call: Brooke.
1 missed call: Landon.
I dialed Landon’s number.
“Hello?”
“Hey Landon, can you pick me up?”
