It was a Friday afternoon, and since everyone was at the cafe for their first summer vacation cappucino, everyone was there to witness the utter humiliation that was thrust upon Johannah Kistin in a matter of mere minutes. She watched as KalebSpencer did some sort of handshake with a guy from school. He was two years older than she, and now that he was graduating, Johannah decided it was now or never. Looking to her best friend Aiana Zaga for encouragement, they shot each other a thumbs up before heading over to Kaleb. He was sitting alone now, quietly sipping an iced latte' while looking deep in thought. She didn't want to disturb him, but Johannah knew if she didn't do this now, she'd never work up the guts to try again.

"Um, hey, Kaleb," Johannah said with a nervous laugh.

"Oh, hi Johannah," Kaleb replied, a startled frown gracing his gorgeous face. "Can I help you?"

"I'm just going to come right out and say this because otherwise I'm never gonna get through it and then that would be a total waste considering-" Johannah could tell she was babbling and her words were running together because Kaleb was staring at her, a confused look on his face.

"Basically, Ireallyreallylikeyou," Johannah said in one rushed sentence. She could tell he understood though, becasue he flushed in embarrassment, possibly even redder than she was.

"Oh! Johannah, I just don't feel the same way about you. You're just not my type."

"Oh. Well, um, okay. Have a great summer. The school's really going to miss you now that you'll be away at college next year." Without so much as a 'goodbye', Johannah made her way back to Aiana, desperately trying to ignore the whispers and snickers sounding all throughout the cafe.

"Can we get going?" Johannah asked Aiana, nervously twilirling a lock of her unruly red hair.

"Of course!" Aiana exclaimed, hopping up.

They managed to make it outside before embarrassment took over and Johanna broke down crying. Of course she wasn't his type, she thought angrily. With her frizzy red hair, braces, and twig-like figure, why would the star quarterback with chocolate brown hair and steel colored eyes be into her? He wouldn't. Because she wasn't his type.
