Fire burning…flames engulfing, and just as I’m about to choke on the smothering flames, he’s there. He always appears just as I’m about to die, and the flames calm down, they’re still there, but there’s no pain. Who is this man, and what does he want, is he the one putting me through all this pain? An aura of power surrounds him, I know whoever he is, right now, I did not stand a chance. He sends the flames towards and I try to cover my face, but as I do so, he stands their laughing, like he’s enjoying my pain…His long brown hair sweeps across his face, blowing with the wind that feeds the fire. Darkness tries to claim me as I fight for my survival, the monsters piercing black eyes staring at me with a look that left my soul feeling empty. The last ball of fire is thrown forward, and hits, setting my clothes a flame and then….a dungeon of pain.
I jolt out of bed, screaming, and look around, blink a few times, and realizes I’m is safe. Wiping sweat drenched hair off my face, letting all of my beautiful black locks fall upon my back. Attempting to catch my breath, I lift my self from bed and go to the living, picking up my guitar. Letting my fingers move along the guitar, trying to finish my cover of ‘Creature’ by Atreyu. I Concentrate solely on the sound of the guitar, and loses myself in the music. Jerks her head upwards at the sound of footsteps in the kitchen, slowly descending towards the stairs.
Oh no! Could it be Maxx? Oh god, is Maxx okay? Oh no!
My thoughts scream out at me, plaguing me with worry. Dropping my guitar on the ground and running towards the wall by the stairs, hiding my self along the side. Peeking over the edge, I realize that man, the one from my nightmares, is standing there, laughing. Suddenly , flames burst from the stair well, and my lung erupt in pain, I find my self coughing, trying to breath while smoke enters my lungs. Black smoke clouds my vision of the man, as the flames nip at my legs, crawling upwards. Trying to get away from the flames, I runs back towards the living room, coming to the realization that I am trapped in the basement.
Maxx!
Crying, I rush back up the stairs, in hopes to get to my brother in time. A loud crash echoes, and glass shatters everywhere.
“ASHTYNN, SAVE MAXX, PLEASE!” I let the words scream out my mouth, hoping Ashtynn will listen and run up and get Maxx. Suddenly, my body is being lifted and thrown, landing on a back of fur.
“Noo, Ashtynn, Not me! Get Maxx!” Screaming, fighting to get off Ashtynn’s back. Ashtynn refuses to let me move, rushing towards the window. Glass slices into my body, slicing at every little revealed piece of skin, drawing blood. I sobs and continues to struggle, attempting to convince him to go back. It finally dawns upon me that, no matter what, nothing will work…It was too late.. My brother is gone. Hate and anger begin to bubble in my inner core, my heart loses its beat, and my palms start to sweat. Screams echo in the air, causing Ashtynn to start to turn but is met by a fist hitting the side of his muzzle, causing him to yelp. Taking advantage of Ashtynn’s five second distraction, I throw myself to the ground, curling up to cover from the blow. As soon as the rolling slows, I launch forward, let the full speed take over, letting my heart control my directions. I being to hear the grunts and howls of Ashtynn behind me, shortening the distance between us. I let my hate, anger, and sorrow control me, increasing my speed until the soft panting of Ashtynn disappears. Eventually I come to a stop, realizing where I had went, and falls to the ground, the crunching of the twigs being the only sound. I hold my self in a ball, trying to hold my self together, but nothing works. Pushing my hands into the moist dirt, I lift my self up, turn around, and slam my fist into the nearest rock. The thud that came from the rock only made me angrier, as memories came spilling in, and I let my fist keep slamming repeatedly on the smooth grey rock. The anger finally subsides and I fall to the ground, exhausted, and cry. The pain is unbearable and my entire body feels aflame. Exhausted, I let out a sob, and succumb to the darkness.
‘Hey, wake up, it’s okay now, you’re safe.” Gentle hands start to lift my, but I push my self away, opening my eyes immediately. Taking in my surroundings, I realize I am still in woods, beside the water fall. Focusing my eyes on the girl in front of me, I notice how her long black hair covers her face, revealing only glimpses of the large black circles of eyeliner on her brown eyes. Her clothes fitting tightly with her figure, showing a nice feminine side to this mysterious girl.
After a short pause, I find my self looking up quizzically and plagued with worry.
“W-who are you..?” My voice is raspy from crying and I wince at the pain in my throat.
