Prologue
Eight Months before I was born. That’s when it happened, when he left my life forever. No one, especially me, saw it coming or at least that’s what I thought. My dad was gone and had forgotten purposely to tell me the biggest secret that anyone could ever hide. Sure my parents loved each other but did they ever think of the consequences of having an offspring? I think not.
When my parents were born they weren’t like the “Humans” they had powers beyond what anyone could imagine. My dad was the son of Walter Bommerman, better known as the king of Everstain, a mythical land of which everyone knew about, at least the non-mortal ones anyway.
That’s when my dad, Ryan, met my mother, Stephanie, which was just a poor peasant, which she called herself. They had married 3 years after they dated and that was that. My father of course left for a war in Everstain when my mother was just in her few weeks of pregnancy and was never seen again.
Like most people they searched for days and just gave up. Sure, my mother was devastated by his lost, but what could she do. After all, they had to remember she was carrying a living and breathing human being inside her and had way more responsibilities than she had planned.
Of course when my grandfather died my dad was next in line to take the thrown. You may be asking, why would they send the king off to war? Well, actually they didn’t. My dad chose to go and fight and left my mother alone with her mother, or my grandma, Loretta Gregory.
I, Grace Bommerman, was born eight months after the war had happened in the mortal world which my family called it and we have been living there ever since.
Unfortunately my dad still hasn’t been found and is now pronounced dead. My mother remarried, Henry Stevens and was once again pregnant with my so called pig of a brother, Matt. I, Grace, am now fourteen years old and Matt is now seven.
To finish this story off my mom did marry a mortal and refused to tell my new step dad and her husband that we aren’t mortal (completely) and have powers, my mom is pregnant again with a girl (soon to be named Kira), and my brother is still breaking in his powers.
I don’t care what anyone says, there is always two sides to every story.
