I’m brushing my knee length strawberry blonde hair so I can put it up in a pony-tail. I have my booty shorts on and a gray T-shirt on with Daytona High School in red letters. I was going to go for a jog before my family wakes up. I am Lexie Blevins, the daughter of Kelsey Blevins who is the daughter of Lexie Dickerson who is the daughter of Stormy Lyons who is the daughter of Colie Wakefield who is the daughter of Karen and Jay Summerland. My mother and father are still together. I know that my daddy isn’t my birth father and neither my two sisters or I want anything to do with him. I am fifteen going on sixteen years old, it is July 8th so I have one more month. I have a older sister named Colleen who is seventeen years old, then it’s me, Savannah, and Lyndsey who will be sixteen, then Maddie who is 14, Alexa is 12, Bailey is 10, and Riley is eight years old. We live out in the country in Daytona Beach it’s an amazing place to live I will tell you that now. I found my pumas and walked downstairs slowly and then took off out the door running in the fields. My sisters and I are all country girls since we live out in the country. Lyndsey, Bailey, Riley, and I are all momma’s girl and Maddie, Colleen, Savannah, and Alexa are all a daddy’s girl. Momma and daddy has already warned us that there will be no more kids I mean there are eight girls, only half of us belongs to both of them. Colleen’s mother died giving birth and then our father didn’t want anything to do with us and daddy met momma on an airplane when she was pregnant with us and they fell in love. “Good Morning Lexie.” My Aunt Emma said I had ran over two miles so I was slowing down on my way back. “Morning Aunt Emma.” I said she is a Lawyer at a firm in town she is a very well known lawyer too. I walked home and took a nice shower and then walked down stairs where momma and daddy were. Momma was making breakfast and daddy was sipping his coffee before he went to work. “Good Morning Lex.” Daddy said “Good morning daddy and momma.” I said pouring me some orange juice and sitting next to daddy, bringing my knees to my chest and wrapping my arms around them. “What are your plans for the day?” Daddy asked me “Probably help momma around the house and then us girls are going to the beach.” I said and momma looked at me “what if I wanted to go?” She asked her eyes had the famous twinkle in them. “Then you can momma, but we just know that we’re going and wasn’t sure if you would want to or not.” I said she rolled her eyes “I am not old like you think I am. I will be thirty-three next month.” She said “I never said that you were old.” I said and she smiled at me “but you were thinking it.” She said I rolled my eyes and smiled at Riley who walked in. “Morning Riley” I said and she smiled “Morning Lex, daddy, and momma.” She said they smiled at her. Daddy got up and kissed the top of our heads and then kissed momma’s lips and walked out the door for work. Alex and Bailey walked in and I smiled at them “Morning Alex and Bay.” I said and they smiled. Alexa goes by Alexa, Alex or Al. My name is Alexis so I go by Lexie, Lex, Alexis, or depending on the person Al. Lynds, Savannah, and Colleen came down next smiling at everyone. “Lex, are we still on for the beach?” Colleen asked and I nodded. “After you girls help me clean the house.” Momma said and we nodded “you got it.” we all said and she smiled. “Lex, Co, Sa, Lynds, and Maddie none of you are on your period are you?” Momma asked “No!!” We all said and she smiled. This is the one thing daddy hates we’re all girls so we all have to deal wit our monthly gift from mother nature and we normally get it the same time. “Okay just making sure.” Momma said and we smiled at her. We all cleaned the house so it was done in half an hour. Since there are no boys in the house but daddy the house stays clean we just have to do touch ups. “Go get ready.” Momma said and we did. Momma packed the cooler with sodas and lunch meat. “Aunt Emma and Aunt Nicole are going to be there too.” Momma said and we nodded. We loaded up the van and all got in it. Savannah, Lyndsey, and I got in the back seat. “Lex, you might find yourself a boyfriend!” Lyndsey said and I rolled my eyes at her. “I have to be looking in order to get a boyfriend and I’m not looking.” I said “yeah right. Every girl is looking.” Colleen said joining our conversation. “Oh yeah are you looking?” I asked “I have a crush on someone. Who is going to be at the beach.” She said and I rolled my eyes at her. With my sisters everything is about guys and then shopping and then more guys. Life isn’t always about that but you can’t get them to understand that. “Lexie you will find your dream dude one day.” Lyndsey said. “I’m almost sixteen years old I don’t need to worry bout my dream duded if he is even out there.” I said “Dang Lex, you are hopeless when it comes to love.” Savannah said “We got to fix that this summer.” Colleen said “Momma help me!” I said and she smiled.
