Preface
As I sat under the tree I looked up, the leaves were turning colours and falling around me, as if in some kind of dance that I would never understand. This tree brought back a flood of memories. Just a tree, a stupid tree, could make me cry for hours, but not today, today I simply remembered, there was no need for tears. I stared into the rest of the forest as my left hand, automatically, reached up and traced the worn bark on the tree, as if looking for something. My fingers traced the carefully engraved heart and the initials, then at the bottom they felt the one other word, my hands had memorized the lines of the letters, and I whispered it to myself.
Forever.
