“Why is it that the Burning man is the only safe place for us?” we were walking around the camp. We had bought some glow sticks and some merchandise so it was easier to blend in. I folded my wings in a way that they looked like a costume. Raven folded her crossbow until it was a stick that was strapped to her back.

“Because, neither of my parents would expect me to hang out with a bunch of stoned out morons. I mean, would any parent?”

“Yeah, I guess.” We started walking toward the large Burning man statue when and explosion occurred outside the camp. I look and see an entire army composed of angels and demons.

“Well, fuck. They must be really desperate to work together like this.” We started running away when a strange light flies over us and hits the statue. Metal started to creak and moan as the limbs started to catch fire and move. One of the heretics or angel must have done this, because the Burning man started to march forward and attack us. Stoners and hippies were either running away screaming or they watched in stoned awe. Angels took to the skies while the demons charged on the ground. I charged at the demons and started to slice and slash. Raven aimed and fired her crossbow at the angel. Arrow after arrow flew and hit the angel. There were explosions of both fire and light. The Burning man came forward and brought down his massive arm. The stands that were under the impact exploded in white-hot flames. I turned and charged at the statue. I jumped and unfolded my wings. I flew at the monster and attacked. It swung its immense arms and shot beams of flames towards me. I maneuvered and swung my scythe out at its head. The metal beams that I cut slid out of place and started to fall to the ground. The creatures’ fire died and it started to topple to the ground. I looked around and saw that Raven was right under the carnage, unaware of the colossal chunks of metal and flame that was about to crash down onto her. I flew as fast as I could, hoping that I would make it. I swung under the toppling figure and folded my wings around us like a shield. The humongous wreckage came down on top of us. I couldn’t hear anything, but I knew that the havoc outside was still going strong. I grabbed my scythe and slide it into the ground and created a portal. We slipped in and were met with gallons of water. We broke the surface, gasping for air. We climbed onto the deck. Raven looks around and asks where we were at.

“We’re in Heaven. There shouldn’t be that many angels around here, but we need to be careful.” We started walking along the deck. It was dark and there was absolutely no activity.

“Where is everyone?”

“I don’t know, but I do know that my father will be in his penthouse office, so we need to stay on the ground.” I hear a cough and look behind me. There, standing in full body armor, was my brother, Jesus Christ. He was armed with cross swords in each hand. He looks at me with a sad look on his face.

“Well, brother, I guess it always came down to this. Me versus you. Life versus Death. Let’s see who wins.”
