As we flew, I glanced back and saw my parents flying after us, my mom was engulfed in flames and my dad was enveloped in pure light. My parents caught up to us and started ramming into us. I couldn’t hold myself up any longer, so I started hurling down to the ground. I fell and landed straight in the middle of a roadside diner. Customers jumped in surprise and fear. I didn’t know what they saw; mortals always saw somethings differently, so, whatever it was that they saw, it scared the shit out of them. One big and burly biker guy pee-d his biker pants. I saw in the distance that my parents fly towards the diner. I turned to Raven and told her to hide. She ran to the kitchen in the back. I brought out my scythe and mentally readied myself for the fight that was about to occur. My mother landed in flames as my father landed in blinding light. My mother was holding a flaming lead-tipped whip, while my father carried a long golden staff. We stood there, looking into each other’s eyes, mortals running away. My mother yells at me.
“WHERE IS THAT HORRIBLE BITCH!?!”
“Hiding, but if you want her, you’ll have to go through me.” My mother roars (and I mean literally roars) in anger and charges. She flicks her whip and it comes flying towards me. I raise my scythe to reflect. The whip wraps around the staff of the blade and mom starts to pull. I hold, but dad comes running up, swinging the staff like a shaolin master. I roll out of the way of my father’s attack and slash outward. My father jumps over my blade, but my mother trips and lands on the ground with an enormous thud! She looks up at me from across the room
“HOW DARE YOU DO THAT TO YOUR OWN MOTHER?!? I WILL MAKE SURE THAT LITTLE GOTHIC SLUTS’ SOUL GETS RAPED AND MURDERED FOR ALL OF ETERNITY!”
“Not unless you find her.” I replied. Dad came running at me with his staff. I duck and sweep below his feet. He falls forward, but before I could celebrate that tiny victory, mom’s fiery whip wraps around my ankle and I feel an excruciatingly painful burning sensation going through out my body. I scream in pain as I am reeled in towards my mother. But, before mom could get a hold on me, a knife sinks into my mother’s shoulder and she wails in such a high-pitched squeal that all of the glass within 100 miles exploded due to the vibrations. I look behind her as I was unwrapping the whip from my ankle. There, standing with a blood-stained knife, was Raven. She leapt towards my mother again and this time, the blade sunk into my mothers’ chest. It must have hit her heart, because she exploded in a column of fire and red smoke. Thank dad, that she can’t die I thought only return to Hell when defeated by a pure soul. I got up and hugged Raven. We were just standing when I remembered that dad was still there. I turned around and saw that dad was just getting back up. I grabbed my scythe and walked over to him. He was rising slowly when I sunk my scythe into his back. He was about to explode in light and return to Heaven, when I told him close to his ear so he could hear.
“I’m sorry dad, but I love her and I will never let anything happen to her, ever.” Right before he left, dad looked into my eyes and said,
“I kn-kno-know.” And, with that, he went back to Heaven. I walked back to Raven and held her hand. She looked at me expectantly, but said nothing. In that moment, we were transported back to my home. Safe and free from harm.
