"I should have seen it coming

he abandoned me."

He was so oblivious, I should have known he was sick of having me as a son. I was trying to tell him, but he didn't listen to anything I said. I tried to say "My brother punched me in the face!" or "I'm hungry! I haven't eaten in a few days!" I should have known he was sick of it.

Whenever I told my brother to stop picking on me, I should have known he was telling dad to get rid of me. Everyone hated me, I knew it. I even felt like my friends were just actors or puppets, not real, never there for me. Whenever I talked to them, they never really talked back.

I even thought they were getting paid by my dad to be my friends. That's how plain they were, wondering if what they were getting was worth pretending to be the school freak's friend. My solid two friends who walked away from me when I told them I was being abused. They just walked away without a care in the world.

That was the day I was pulled out of school

and the next day I was sent to a new one.
