As I walked to my house, I heard Jack yelling so I put my ear to the door.

“Don’t talk to me like that! She’s your screwed up daughter!” I heard Jack yell. “Someone has to teach her a lesson! And I know you wont because your too lazy to even get your ass off the frickin’ couch!”

“I just don’t understand,” cried out my mom. “I thought you’ve changed! It was all a fake. I knew you were acting just to get away with it. I gave you chance!”

“I’m the man of this house! And what I say goes! I’ll beat your daughter when ever until she listens!”

“Don’t you ever hit her again!” I heard my mom exclaim.

“Shut up!” I heard Jack yell. When I hear my mother scream I opened the door quickly and peeked around the corner to see if she was ok. She was crumpled on a mattress and Jack was standing in the middle of the room. He turned to me surprised.

“You!” he yelled coming towards me. “Come over here you tramp!”

I spun around to head out the door but he had reached and grabbed my hair and pulled me into the house. He threw me hard against the wall next to my mother. I looked over at her, who was half lying, half sitting up against the wall. She didn’t seem completely aware of what was going on. Jack had headed to the bathroom and when he came out, he had a gun in his hand.

“I should have done this along time ago!” he said coming towards us. I screamed when I saw the gun.

“Shut up!” he yelled pointing the gun at me. I wanted to run but I was too scared to move. He aimed the gun at my mom’s head.

“Jack, no! Please!” I cried. But, Jack pulled the trigger. There was a loud bang and everything went silent for a moment. With tears streaming down my face, I looked over to my mother and couldn’t recognize her face. I screamed so loud that my throat hurt. I turned to Jack who was now pointing the gun at me.

“This is it,” I thought to myself. My whole body was shaking with fear. I closed my eyes and waited for Jack to pull the trigger. A loud noise is all I heard.
