Chapter 1: Best. Day. Of. My. Life.
"Alissa! Oh my gosh! I'm going to miss you so
much! Promise to call?" My friend Hallie came running up behind
"Of course." I said, giving her a hug. Its
finally the last day of school, and I'm going to the shining
city of Bradenton, Florida for the whole summer with my best
friend Anna. We had been saving up forever to go on this trip
and then come back to school our junior year with kick ass tans
and be new and improved! We're leaving tomorrow morning, and
the only thing bugging me was the fact that I was leaving my
boyfriend, Casey, for the whole entire summer. We have been
dating nearly two years, and I am completley in love with him.
I must say, I'm going to hate that part, but we plan on
constantly talking apart from the two weeks he is going to a
camp where no phones are allowed. He and I are always together
though, so this could be a good thing, it will prove to me if
he really does love me.
Hallie ran off to find Anna and say good-bye to
her. I opened my locker, pulling out my purse leaving the locker
"Hey baby." I turned to find Casey standing behind
me. I smiled back at him.
"Hey." He put his arms around my waist and kissed
me. I kissed him back, still getting those butterflies I had the
first time he kissed me. They will probably never fade away. When
he pulled away, I blushed, and avoided looking into his eyes
directly. He laughed and turned my face to him.
"When will you ever get over that hun?" He said,
flipping his brown hair out of his green eyes. I laughed.
"It looks like never..."
"Well, your leaving tomorrow morning, and I'm not
going to see you for an entire summer. So, tonight at five I'm
picking you up and taking you out ok?" I smiled.
"Yeah. Great. See you then."
I ran around my room, looking for something to
wear when I went out with Casey. I decided on a pair of skinny
leg jeans, some black heel type things, and a blue tank top with
a black vest over it. I'm not very good with the whole, whats in
whats out thing, but this looked cute. I went into the bathroom
and brushed out my waist length blonde hair then perfected my
make up, that I'm good at. I heard the door bell ring, grabbed my
purse and ran down stairs.
"Coming!" I yelled. I opened the front door to
find Casey standing there. He had on a pair of dark jeans and a
red t-shirt that seemed two sizes too big, still, he looked
Casey and I ended up going out to my favorite
restaurant to eat, Chili's. Yes, I love Chili's and hate going to
those exceedingly fancy restaurants for a date. I have made that
very clear. Another thing I'd hate is getting engaged on a
holiday, or somewhere fancy. Blehk. Drives me crazy.
After dinner, Casey and I walked down to the park.
The sun was just setting and there were other couples around, and
some artists. This was the nicest part of the town. We sat down
on a bench, and Casey put his arms around me.
"Alissa, how much do you love me?" He asked,
playing with my hair. I smiled.
"More than words could ever describe." Its not the
most romantic answer, but it was the truth, and thats what he
"Would you be happy being with me forever?" Wow,
where's this conversation headed?
"Yeah, I would be." He laughed a little, and I
could sense the smile spread across his face. He pulled his arms
off me and got down in front of me on one knee. Oh boy.
"Alissa, I love you with all my heart, and your
the only person I will ever love. I want to be with you and
nobody else forever. Will you marry me?" He asked pulling out a
small diamond ring. Wow, exactly perfect. We weren't somewhere
fancy, and the ring wasn't so gigantic that it was tacky. Casey
is amazing, and the perfect guy for me. I love him with all my
I smiled, and could sense everyone around us
"Yes!" I squeaked, my face burning up. Casey
slipped the ring onto my finger, then picked me up and hugged me.
I giggled a little as I heard everyone around us start
"I love you." Casey whispered into my ear.
"I love you too."
