I sighed looking at my reflection in the stunning gilt edged mirror. A tiny, delicate looking girl stared back at me.. I raked a hand through my long blonde hair wearily. It was strange.. even after 2 years, after all the 'growing up' I'd done.. just the sight of Gabriella Rossi had been enough to cause me to revert back to that frightened, wounded little girl that had cried herself to sleep everynight, only to find that her nighmares that haunted her in her sleep were far worse than anything she faced in real life.
I groaned in frustration as I found my massive cornflower blue welling up with tears, I brushed them aside viciously. No! I couldn't shed anymore tears over Jeff or Gabriella..
My thoughts were interrupted by a soft knock on the door.. "Chloe, hunnie are you ok?" I quickly grabbed a sunflower yellow facetowel off the rack, and wiped my face. Glancing back at the mirror for a second, I walked to the door and slowly unlocked it, to find a very worriied Annabelle, waiting on the the side.
Wordlessly she hugged me again, nodded understandingly and turned back towards her side of the room, she strode over to her bed and began tidying away the remainder of her clothes and stuff.
I looked back towards my daunting pile, I walked towards it wearily and forced myself to organise my stuff, knowing that it would be even worse if I left it till later on.
After about half an hour, Annabelle looked up from sorting out her impressive collection of shoes and asked, "Do you wanna go get some lunch?" She glanced down at her watch, "cafeteria opened about 15 mins ago.."
I smiled, stifling a yawn.. "wow.. ye, just realised exactly how hungry I am.. "
We walked into the cafeteria together, and something that can only be described as mind-blowingly weird happened. A slim tanned arm raised up from a corner table and waved us over. Hesistantly I walked toward Gabriella's table, my mind a whirl of confusion. I sat down opposite her an sent her a very confused look, but if she noticed it, she didn't acknowledge it..
instead she said, "Hi, sweetie!...
everybody this is Chloe buttersfield, my best freind in the whole wild world.." she gushed. Before I could process exactly what she had just said, she continued. "and Chloe, this is Richard Hamilton, Chuck Barnes.. and James Howard." She layed deliberate emphasis on the last name, and I followed her slim finger to a tall, dark hared, dark eyed, stunningly gorgeous boy. He grinned wolfishly at me, and nodded slightly.. I felt heat suffuse my cheeks, and I averted my gaze, back to Gabriella, who bestowed on me a sincere, beaming smile.
I lifted an eyebrow in cofusion, then smiled back uncertainly...
