A tall man answered the door. He was wearing a business suit and looked like he was in a hurry. "May I help you miss?" he asked as he stared at me.
I opened my mouth to talk but then Adam ran down the stairs and came to the door. "Hey Taylor," he said with a smile on his face. I forced a smile onto my face, trying to hide my fear and sadness.
"Hey," I said quietly, unable to look at him.
"Nice to meet you Taylor," this tall man said as he grabbed his breif case and walked past me out the door. I watched him walk out to his car, leaving me alone with Adam.
I felt Adam take my hand gently and pull me into his house. "Who was that?" I managed to ask.
"That was my dad...did you eat breakfast yet?" Adam asked.
"I'm not hungry," I replied quietly.
"Come on you have to eat some time Taylor," he said in a concerned tone.
"I'll eat, I'm just not hungry right now," I replied.
He pulled me into a hug and I instantly tensed up. "I know your sad about your mom, but you really need to eat," he whispered.
I pulled away from his hug and glared at him. "Why do you even care? You hit me Adam!" I yelled.
His face changed from concerned to angry. "I care a lot about you Taylor! Never question my love for you!" he yelled back.
Did he just say that he loved me?...It doesn't matter I have to show him that he can't hurt people like this! "You're not supposed to hurt peope you love Adam!" I said angrily.
"I'm sorry Taylor," he said as he took a step towards me.
"You can't just expect me to forget this," I said as I took a step backwards.
"No, I don't expect you to forget it. I hope that you will forgive me," he said as he reached out and took my hand gently. I knew I should pull my hand away but I didn't. "I love you Taylor..."
"I...I love you too," I said as I looked at him.
