I saw Adam open the front door, and out of fear I pressed my back further in the seat of the car.
Matt looked over at me and said, "You brought this on yourself. If you had just listened to me in the first place this wouldn't be happening right now."
Deep down I knew he was right, but I couldn't bring myself to admit it. "This shouldn't be happening at all," I mumbled as I opened the door and got out.
Once I forced myself inside the house I stayed quiet as Adam closed the front door. "Sit down," he grumbled as he walked past me into the kitchen.
Obediantly, I sat down on the couch. My hands were shaking and my breath was unsteady.
"Do you need anything from your house before we leave?" I heard him ask from the kitchen.
"What?" I asked as I turned a little to see him.
"Do you want anything from your house before you leave?" he repeated.
"Where are we going?" I said, answering his question with another question.
"Vegas," he said simply like it was no big deal.
"Why?" I replied now a little interested.
"Because we're going to elope!" he said again as if it was an every day thing.
