When we finally got back to the cabin I opened the door and was immediatly yelled at to take my shoes off. Alex did as he was told and actually took the time to wipe his dog's paws off with his hankerchiff. I couldn't help but laugh at him. I on the otherhand kept my shoes on and walked into the study, where my parents were sitting.
"What is that thing doing in this house?" my mom screeched as she jumped ontop of the couch and pointed to Maxy, Alex's dog. She always had been afraid of dogs.
Alex got a sort of worried look on his face, but I laughed and said, "Relax mother! Alex cleaned his paws off."
"The dog can clean his own paws off? Damn, that's my kind of dog!" my dad said jokingly.
"The dog's name is Maxy, not Alex." I said in an annoyed tone. My dad was so lame sometimes. Alex on the other hand was laughing at my dad's comment.
"Who's this?" dad asked sternly now realizing tht Alex was in the room.
"Well, if the dog's name is Maxy then this must be Alex!" I said sarcastically.
"You shouldn't talk like that to your parents," Alex said sternly.
"Why not? They talk to me like that," I said a little surprised by his comment.
"Yes, but they're your elders," he replied.
"He has a point Kasey," my mother said as she stared in fear of the dog who was now sitting perfectly quiet by Alex's side.
"Mom...get off the couch!" I said as I tried to hold back laughter.
"Kasey go to your room. Your mother and I would like to talk to Alex alone. Take the dog with your please," my dad said sternly.
I rolled my eyes and walked to my room, calling Maxy to come with me. Maxy and I layed on my bed while we waited for Alex.
After about half an hour Alex walked into my room. "I passed the test!" he said in a goofy voice as he layed down on the bed next to me.
