I woke up, and found myself still on the lounge but I was covered in a blanket. Lizzi must have put it over me. Pulling my phone out of my pocket, I looked at the time it was 4pm. I had been out for three or more hours, what the hell I didn’t think I was that tired but anyways. Standing up I straightened up my clothes and ran my fingers through my hair making it look less like a rats nest before I wandered out to the lounge room. Everyone was sitting there, except well Tristan.
"Hello sleeping beauty… feeling any better?" Lizzi said.
"Umm yeah, I didn’t even realize I was that tired. Is Tristan not back yet?" I asked.
"Ah nope, but your coming with me." Lizzi stated.
Before I got a chance to say a word, she started dragging me upstairs and into her room, and finally stopped in her closet. The first thought was… oh no makeover. When she simply laughed, I knew that she had heard my thoughts. So I was right. I pulled my phone back out of my pocket, to text Tristan. Letting her do whatever it was she wanted.
'Where are you? You left me and I miss you.' I sent.
I sat there patiently waiting for him to text back, but he didn’t.
An hour and half passed in a blur. She finished using the 50 thousand products on my face, and then decided that she wanted to do a touch of make up.
"Are you done yet?" I pleaded.
"Almost, I've just got to find you a dress and shoes. We shall make Tristan so jealous of leaving you all day by yourself." Lizzi replied.
I just nodded and sat there while she was going through all her dresses and shoes. Not long later, she come back with this cute little black strapless dress, with silver flats. When I finally looked like in the mirror, I had to admit that I did look pretty. The dress sat perfectly, she had my hair done in curls, with only a small amount of make up.
I hope she likes this, it hasn’t taken me all day. I had to stop to go hunting for a while, I went further than I thought. So when I got back I had to finish off. I feel so bad for ignoring her, but I had to otherwise I would have ended up telling her what I was doing. I hope she is alright. I looked around the meadow, it looked beautiful finally all set up. Now I just have to race home, sneak in and get changed and then pick her up. On one of my runs I discovered a short cut, so we could walk back together.
I snuck in threw one of the open balconies. I found a nice white dress shirt and dark blue jeans. I grabbed my black hoodie just in case, Taylor got cold later. Climbing back out my window, I walked around the front, and mentally yelled out to Lizzi to bring her to the front door. I could hear Taylor yelling at Lizzi demanding to know what was going on, but thankfully Lizzi didn’t tell her.
Lizzi opened the door, and Taylor gasped. I could hear her thoughts, I took a couple of steps back, she wasn’t happy about me leaving her all day, and I was afraid she might hurt me, physically she couldn’t but I know she had a way with words. Lizzi left, and I grabbed Tay's hand, leading her outside towards the meadow. I didn’t know whether it would be wise for me to talk first or not. But her giving me the silent treatment was driving me insane, and I couldn’t handle it anymore.
"I'm sorry for leaving you all day. It's just I've set up a surprise for you. And if I told you what it was, it wouldn’t be a surprise, and it wouldn’t be as good, would it? I said to her.
I could see the smile forming on her lips, but she didn’t let it out. Instead, much to my surprise, she decided to take off running, and I couldn’t figure out why. It was rather cute watching her try and run in that little black dress with silver flats. I let her think that she had got a head start before I took off after her. I didn’t run at full speed, but then I heard what I thought sounded like sobs coming from her, so I picked up my speed, and could see it was her sobbing in the distance.
Closing the gap between us, I grabbed her around the waist and pulled her into me.
"Shh, it's ok. Stop crying. What the matter?" I asked worried that something had happened, or I had done something.
I didn’t know what to do, so I just held her in my chest until she was ready to talk.
"It's umm *sniffles* just… nooo one has ever done… something *sniffles again* like this for me, and I'm scared." She stuttered through the sobs.
"Shh it's ok baby. What are you scared of?" I asked questioningly. I hope I hadn't scared her in anyway, I wouldn’t be able to live with myself.
"I'm just scared that… that I'm not good enough girlfriend. I mean there are plenty of other girls out there so much better and prettier than me, and I'm just scared I'll lose you." She stuttered again.
I didn’t know what to say, so I just picked her up bridal style, not caring if she was going to complain or not and ran the remaining way to the meadow. Her sobs slowly died down, and I was grateful. Once we were almost at the meadow I placed her down and turned her to face me even though she objected. Once she was facing me I gently wiped my fingers across her face, wiping any traces of tears. I then spun her back around and covered her eyes. I could tell by her thoughts that she was confused, as I hadn't said anything since the whole I'm scared incident. She really didn’t know what way going on. I led her to the edge of the meadow, I bent down and whispered surprise in her ear before removing my hand.
She gasped and I smiled. Grabbing her hand again, I entwined my fingers with hers, and still didn’t say anything as I led her over to the blanket, the waterfall created the perfect background. I sat down on the blanket and pulled her down with me.
"Taylor, I have never felt the way I feel about you about anyone. I mean when I was human you knew I had a fair few girlfriends and when I was turned it didn’t exactly change. I was trying to find my soul mate, but I had already found her without even realizing it. Taylor my soul mate its you. I cant live without you, and there is no way you will ever lose me. Ever. No other person is going to take you away from me, not your family, not mine, no one. I promise. I'll be yours forever." I said, to her in a soft tone.
I then lent down and kissed her lips softly. She didn’t know what to say but I heard enough in her thoughts to know that she loved me too. I just held her in my arms not saying anything. Just holding her.
I couldn’t believe how much I loved her without even realizing it. I'm sure that mum will be happy that I finally admitted to this, I knew she had been hoping I would find someone, although I have a feeling that she already knew who she was from my memories, and things that I had told them. She was just waiting for me to realize it myself. I couldn’t help but sigh, I just wish that I could be completely honest with her, its so hard not to tell he what her mother has done, I wonder if we had met the way in the deal would I have accepted everything the way it is, or would have things been different. She might not have even known it was me. Although it is kind of funny that she doesn’t know who I am.
I heard a rustle in the tree's, as I turned my head slightly to the spot that I heard it, I could see that someone was watching us. Staring at the spot, I realized that it was my blood brother, the prince of demons. I wonder what he could be doing here. I reached my mind out to his, and when I found it I sent him a message.
'Hey brother, hope everything is ok. Now isn't a good time to talk but if you want to meet me back at the house in a couple of hours we can catch up then.' He didn’t think anything back but soon disappeared.
I couldn’t believe he did all this for me, it was so beautiful. The picnic, and the candles, with the waterfall in the background, it was just so romantic. Sigh. I really didn’t think that I was good enough for him. I mean he is perfect, and I'm me. Just plain old me. After my little crying thing, he picked me up and carried me the rest of the way, my tears finally stopped, once he put me back on the ground, then he showed me everything and I really couldn’t believe it. Without saying a word the whole time, he walked me over to the picnic blanket and sat us down. I just stayed there in his arms, not saying anything. Then he suddenly spoke up.
I promise. I'll be yours forever." He said, to me in a soft tone.
He then lent down and kissed my lips softly. I was so content with just been in his arms, and I didn’t want to ruin the moment by saying anything out loud, so I just thought over and over again how much I loved him, in hope that he would hear me. I'm sure he did. I felt him look away but I wasn’t concerned I knew nothing bad would happen, I wasn’t sure how I knew I just did. All of a sudden to ruin the moment, my stomach growled. Damn I thought.
"Sounds like my little human is hungry. Well there's plenty of food there for you baby." Tristan told me smiling.
I reached over and opened the picnic basket, to find enough food to feed an army, and he expected me to eat all this. Sheesh.
"Thank you so much for all of this Tristan, it's perfect. Just like you. I love you so much." I said in a whisper, knowing he would full well be able to hear me. I thought if I raised my voice it might ruin the mood or something.
"No one is as perfect as you Tay." He replied.
I sighed, 'uhuh' I thought. I grabbed some of the food out, and began eating leaning back into his chest. Once I was done eating, well once Tristan was sure I had eaten enough, I wriggled down a little so I was laying down on the blanket with my head resting on his legs. Only then did I notice how cold it actually was. Tristan leant back and then handed me a black hoodie, his black hoodie. As I slid it over my head I couldn’t help but take a deep breathe, and inhale his smell.
"Thanks again Tristan." I said softly again.
"Baby, are you alright? You've been really quite, I hope I haven't scared you." Tristan asked with worry in his voice.
"Yeah I'm alright, and you haven't scared me. I've just haven't said much nor talked loudly is because I haven't wanted to ruin anything but speaking up. I love you so much, and I'd hate to be the cause of ruin on this wonderful picnic." I whispered.
"Taylor, there is no way you could ruin this night… this night is about you and you only. I love you too. I know that tonight didn’t go exactly as planned, and its getting cold out here, so do you want to head back to the house." He said.
"Umm yeah, I think that it might be a good idea. And I don’t know how you planned it but tonight was perfect. I feel so special. I'm just sorry that I wasn’t much fun. " I replied.
"Its ok, besides I heard everything that you were thinking. And I know you didn’t want to ruin it, and that you were content, and to be honest I was content to. We don’t need to be talking." He said to me smiling. "Now come on, don’t worry about all this, I'll clean it up tonight or tomorrow, jump on my back and we'll run back."
So I climbed onto his back and he started running back. I hid my face in his neck, not wanting to look at the things blurring past. I never knew he could run that fast. We made it back to the house in record time, I jumped off at the front door, and he grabbed my hand and walked me up to our room. He told me that he had a couple of things to do, and he'd be back later. I said goodnight, giving him a quick kiss before shutting the door and jumping into my pajamas. I let sleep take over me instantly, I didn’t want to think right now. I still couldn’t comprehend everything that he had said tonight. I was in no way perfect.
She jumped onto my back and I ran back to the house. She climbed down on the doorstep and we walked back up to the room. I told her I had some things to do, so she said goodnight, before giving me a quick kiss and going to bed. Her thoughts were all over the place, she was trying to comprehend everything that I said about my past girlfriends, and how perfect she is. I sighed, I hoped she would be ok. I walked into the lounge room, expecting to find maybe Eric, my blood brother instead I found dad. I thought he would have been in his study doing royal stuff but I guess I was wrong.
"Hey dad, how's things going?" I asked cautiously, not sure what to think.
"Things are going alright, just thought I'd have a break, your mother and I are going to watch a movie. I seen Eric tonight, he is upstairs in his room. You need to talk to him, something has come up, he wouldn’t tell me what but he seemed pretty worried." He replied.
I didn’t bother saying anything back I just ran up the stairs and to Eric's room, to find out what the hell was going on. I didn’t bother knocking I just opened his door, and found him sitting on the bed. I walked over and gave him one of those brotherly hugs, and mentally asked him what was going on. He then started to explain.
"My younger sister somehow talked into going shopping with her, because mum wouldn’t let her go without me. So we were out and about, I seen you there, but you looked so happy, with that girl so I didn’t want to disturb you. Anyways we were wandering around, and then sis decided she was hungry so we went to get something to eat, that’s when I seen you arguing with that older woman. I spotted the most beautiful girl, I tried to stop looking at her, and thinking about her, and who she could be but I couldn’t. So when we found a table, and sis was eating. I decided to look into her mind, as she was human. But what I found out disturbed me, but not enough to make me want her any less. She is the girl promised to Marcus, and in return your father, the king of all vampires got her younger sister Taylor. She knew about the deal, not what we are but the deal none the less." He said.
I couldn’t believe what I was hearing, she knew that she was promised to some guy, and that father of that guy would get her younger sister wouldn’t she have tried to stop it or something.
"Tristan, I need you help. I think I'm falling for this girl. I want her but with this promise I cant. What am I going to do?" He told me.
I couldn’t help but smile at him, even though I was pissed off that Taylor's sister knew about the deal and didn’t do anything, this was the solution to our problem.
"My dear blood brother, the girl you saw me with is Taylor. And as harsh as this may sound, but dad doesn’t really want to have her sister married into the family. He met there mother before Taylor was born, and could tell she would be a powerful vampire. But the only way he could tell to get her to let him have her was promise the mother her precious eldest daughter was married to his eldest son, the next in line. It’s the only reason he made the deal, its not because Bella isn't a good person or whatever, its just her and Marcus wouldn’t really make a good pair, you know how he is. If you could make her fall in love with you then everything would be fine. I mean everyone will be happy. You will get the girl, and the promise goes out the window because we already have the girl, her mother just doesn’t know it yet, she wants the power. She doesn’t know I'm the youngest son of the king, she just knew I was a vampire. She wants to win her daughter back because so that the deal will go through, not knowing we all know everything going on. But we wont give her the chance, in fact she will lose her other daughter. I mean I don’t want you to use your powers on her to make her fall for you, it doesn’t matter how long it takes. Its not like you'd be faking your love. Take her on a holiday so you can both see how great you will be together. And then once you trust her enough, you can tell her our secrets. And then turn her into a demon, and I'll be turning Tay into a vampire." I replied.
We then started catching up, and talking about if this would work, and how great the girls were. After two or three hours, I told him he could stay the night, and that I was heading to bed. On my way to the room, I mentally asked dad if he had heard everything, and he said he had and that he agreed saying that it was a great plan. Now we just had to make it work. Tomorrow Eric was going to set things into motion. I opened my bedroom door to find Taylor still out like a light. I climbed into bed, and wrapped my arms around her, pulling her closer to me. She didn’t wake up, instead subconsciously snuggled closer to me. I couldn’t help but smile. I just laid there waiting to drift off to sleep. I never wanted to leave her side, I liked keeping her safe. Plus I was worried that if I left her, that something might happen to me.
