Somethings Never Change

Poetry By: AmandaBrookeWrites
Young adult

Somethings never change, but I really wish they would.

NOTE: I write poetry to vent, and although it's not the best thing you've ever read like Edgar Allen Poe - it doesn't give you the right to leave rude comments.I am happy with criticism if you tell me how to improve or help me but not if you just say "this sucked"...get more creative, writers.

From day one, I've been accustomed

Learning to adjust to every curve and bend,

I adore change and the spontaneity it brings

Alteration has become my closest friend

Transformation has always come naturally

To Junior High from elementary

Junior High and on to be a freshman

All happened too rapidly, but casually

Family murdered; adjustment required

My home was no longer greatly attired

But I haven't felt whole in a long time

This had long been something I aspired

But some things never change, I guess

My feelings for you left unconfessed

Although I'm different now and have grown

I see you and completely regress

So years going by and nothing exchanged

How do I go about when this is unchanged?

You're with them and I constantly hate it

Breaking my heart and leaving me deranged

Yeah, some things never change

But I pray they do soon
