As I stand here looking out

across this endless ocean

I realize how foolish I have been.

Pretending everything was fine between us

Winding and

To that special place inside

Not knowing no shame

I watch you in slow motion

Running free along the shore

and as you turned toward me

your cinnamon colored eyes sparkled in the sunset

and you smiled at me and said

You still take my breath away

Your the one who anticipates

Never hesitating

to take the blame

I know that now

Now as my tears fall

Into the darkness below me

Into the depths of my shame

Through the hourglass I saw you

slowly slip away

In my regrets I called you

My ruby lips trembled

As I found the words to say

You still take my breath away

If only for this moment

If only for today

I'm not so afraid

To end this foolish game

Somewhere deep inside me

A heart is burning up in flames

I embraced my foolish pride

to a cold and empty bed

Then I found you waiting there

The fated one

The one who never gave up on me

The one

who still takes my breath away
