A Cherished Friend's Betrayal (Reality)

Poetry By: Carina
Young adult

This one is also for Mistress of Wordplay's challenge. There were supposed to be two poems that had the same topic, yet different. Both of these are personal in a way, since I have awesome friends, yet have tasted the bitter betrayal of other "friends." Anywayz, I hope you enjoy! :)

One soul in two bodies
I thought that's what we were
Journeying in life together
Telling stories of lessons learned
What has happened to us?
Where has the trust gone?
Do you still even care?
Or am I the only one?
You used the blade of Betrayal
To pierce my fragile heart
To slice, stab, and cut
Until I was completely torn apart
What have I done to you?
Was I really just a pawn?
I await in the hurting silence
To see that sweet, sweet dawn
Please just tell me the truth
No lies, just pure honesty
Free my soul from the confusion
Then go, let time be my remedy
The betrayal of a dear friend
That aching pain in your chest
Is only known by those of us
Who were hurt by those we knew best
