Wrote this one quite a few years ago- hence the uneven rhythm and imperfect rhyme! But I hope you'll enjoy it anyway and please submit suggestions for improvement!

Stranger, stranger

Beware of the danger!

You better catch me if I fall.

My heart is heavier than it looks

But can be slippery too.

You'll give more than I took

Or it'll go badly for you.

Try to catch me if I fall.

Your heart beats faster

At the sound of my laughter.

My smile hides my fear

That you'll be the next tear.

Another notch on your belt

Another bruise on my arse

All the pain that I felt

When I let slip my mask

With nothing to break my fall.

I can't stand this tension,

Let's stop this pretention.

When you ask your question,

There's no need to mention

The risk that I'm taking here.

My heart and yours,

Subtle as broken glass,

With edges nearly as sharp,

I can't keep pretending

This won't have a happy ending

And cinderella won't go to the ball

If you don't catch me when I fall.
