For the world I put on a smile,
But inside I die a little at a time.
For the world I whisper the words they want to hear,
But inside I scream every word that has cut me deep.
For the world I appear strong,
But inside I’m weak willed and hurting.
It’s easy to put on a mask for the world,
But hard to fool myself.
For the world I say I don’t need you,
But inside my heart yearns for one more kiss.
For the world I stand tall with my chin up,
But inside I cry and fall down.
All that the world can hear,
Is me screaming at a whisper.
