The King Has Left

Poem By: julistar
Young Adult

how my friend feels now that she is no longer getting married. Her last name is King and she sent me a simple text: "the king has left" when she had packed up her car and was driving away to her new place. She's been crying for days now and my heart has been aching for her. Will he try to win her back? Will she be strong enough to tough it out on her own? View table of contents...

Fabulous darling, this is THE life

summers in the tropics, shopping in miami

las vegas, cali, hawaii, puerto rico

where shall we descend

we look GOOD together

exotic, erotic, perfect

they want what we have

we are what they dream to be

entwined, entombed, forever

but when i asked u for a baby

you were so amazed

was i crazy

to SHARE us

to lose us

to destroy what

we have

for what

for you

to be whole

you have me

and i have you

you must be joking

you shouldnt listen to people

they will scare you to death

with doubt

i dont want to be your room mate anymore

she said

he said

you need time, you're not serious

she packed the tv and her clothes

he said

you'll be back, you couldnt live without

the things i give you, the places i've shown you

she sat on her own bed in her own place

she cried

she called a friend

"this is it, this is the end"

what ever happens next

what ever doors open

she is sure

 the king has left

and the queen reigns on

without him

Oh, wow, such a powerful poem...I can definitely feel your emotions coming through this poem. I really loved the way you suddenly did the "she said" and "he said" and it really enhanced the poem. The last few lines were my favourite:

the king has left
and the queen reigns on
without him

Keep up the good work! :)
