Destructive Infatuations

Poetry By: Kitsunex3
Young adult

Like a "crush." Everything feels so real, yet it is so fake.

What is the love I felt for you,
I know it was just a lie.
But it felt so very true
Oh, how I wish you knew.

The queasiness from your very pressence
as you brush against me in the hall
I can feel your constant essence
The cause of my senescence.

All these sensations are a demented fairy tale
Their pain is so awfully real
No interaction makes me pale
Just leave so I can again inhale.

For my breath has been held from the start
of this unrequited "love"
Which holds onto my heart
and continues to tear me apart.

If only you knew,
that I loved you.
