I hate being stuck in the middle.

The middle kid,

Always forgotten.

The middle kid,

Stuck at the bottom.

The middle child,

Meek and mild.

The middle child,

Practically exiled,

From their home,

Their life.

Neglect is cruel,

As sharp as a knife.

Always put down,

For nothing they've done.

Mummy's sad little girl

And Daddy's depressed son,

Hopelessly stuck in the middle.

Expected to be sensible,

But treated as they're little.

Always to blame,

Never in the right.

Will they ever be seen

In a positive light?
