A clock will strike Mid-night.
Most will sleep with their heads in their pillows,
and their minds at rest.
Some of us
can't sleep.
We stay up most the night
only to see light
without peace.
Some of us
do not sleep because of what might lurk
in the corrners of our dreams.
We try to smile
or try to hide the dark circles
under our eyes,
but sometimes time
dosen't work on our side.
Doctors give us medicine
to help us sleep.
They say your body needs it.
But they did not stop to think
that dreams can make our bodies restless.
Our mids are always working,
they are never turned off.
So when we sleep only some parts of our mind
is taking a break.
So we night "owls"
aren't that diffrent from those who sleep.
We just have our eyes open.
But do not call us crazy
because you do not have dreams and fears
like we do most nights.
