Go Quietly, Please

Poetry By: Mewgmtm
Young adult

Breakups are not easy, simple things. The one who is being broken up with can often take the breakup the wrong way, and believe that their ex does not still love them. Actually, a lot of the time, things have not been going right, or they have been told to stop dating you, even if it's not what they want.

I broke up with you because I needed to,
It is not what I want,
I just want to be your part number two,
I want to fight on your side, up front.
It can't be how we planned it,
Mummy, she says no,
But remember what we managed,
Before my mum said 'go'.
I couldn't be more serious,
You are who I want,
Now please don't make me delirious,
I feel like I've been bombed.
It's true; I wanted to live with you,
I wanted to be your aid,
I never would have hit you,
But this is a price to be paid.
I know I moved quite sudden,
Lost in a tunnel of fear,
I do not want to be your burden,
I just want you to be right here.
You must understand that I had no choice,
I'm sorry I had to leave,
I'm sorry, but I had no voice,
It's up to you what you believe.
Please, I beg, don't make this harder,
I have to go,
But I know that I would rather,
That Mum had never known.
But please, just leave me quietly,
I can't know that you're hurt,
I don't want to do this childishly,
Just forget you saw up my skirt.
