The outside world seems such a scary place sometimes.

Dear Mother,

It's not okay that I'm not okay.
I'm not alright and that's not alright.
I've had enough of growing up,
don't let me out your sight.

'The best years of your life,' they say,
'take them with a pinch of salt,' well
I've seen what's coming after this and
they're the best years by default.

Brother hasn't spoke in weeks,
Cousin's feeling blue,
he regrets the choices that he made.
Now he's not speaking too.

Uncle died ten years ago.
Auntie still looks sad.
Grandad's years are running thin,
is all out there this bad?

The world seems such a scary place
that I won't sleep tonight.
I've had enough of growing up,
don't let me out your sight.
