Closer to him
Farther away
The closer you get to him
You're going further away
It's all him
That's all you see
You want to be with him
What he does
You do the same
Why am I the one left out in the rain?
I should have expected this
I saw it coming
But Why I was shocked
I still don't know
I recognize you're friends
But I feel like a shadow
Mindless, friendless, hopeless
Why even try?
Why do I feel
Put on the back burner
Unimportant
Feelings left to simmer
Because all you see
Is him.

The closer you get to him
- i think these two lines sum up the poem perfectly :)
just when someone gets close enough to a person to be able to love them, they push that person out. why? perhaps fear of getting hurt...
i could kind of connect with this poem. bits and pieces.
