Short simple poem really. It's more a statement then anything else. Enjoy the read.

SURIVIVED

by SheaRyhai (c) 2009

Battered hearts all feel the same,

fragile testament to a world of pain.

A girl in the hospital once a week,

a boy who stutters each time he speaks.

The 'betrayed' used for their lovers gain,

the 'different' always put to shame.

'Neglected' who know love through a fist,

the 'addict' whose weakness can't resist.

A 'soldier' tormented by dreams of war,

a 'widow' left all alone and poor.

The 'crippled' who view life from a chair,

the 'invisible' who feels like no one cares.

The 'parents' who watched their new baby die,

the rape 'victim' who's ashamed to cry.

Each came to a point they couldn't see past,

who struggled while doubting they would last.

Razor made scars aren't real pain you see,

more than one of the above was actually me.

If suicidal attempts what you view with pride,

it's not what I see when I think 'SURVIVED'.
