little sister

follow my path, stay on track,
follow my lead, don't look back,
hold my hand I wont let go ill keep you safe my life on hold,
stay near, do not wander, little sister,
ill hold my breath, to let you breathe,
little sister wont you smile for me,
smile the way you used to before I left,
little sister, let your smile brighten sadden faces,
let your laugh light those whose hearts are darkened,
let your hugs warm those who shiver in the cold,
little sister grow up strong and be bold,
little sister, sit upon my shoulder and ill show you the world,
ill give my heart and love to bind you,
holding your hand I wont let go, walking the path where no one goes,
hold on tight and close your eyes,
wish a wish seen by sprites,
hold your tongue and under your breath whisper your wish,
slowly it goes a whisper in the wind,
open your eyes and look to the sky,
watch the sprites with dominant eyes,
walk on home for I a shadow, never truly their but years away,
hold onto my touch, remember my face, hear my voice but do not race,
wait for me beyond the creek, sit on a moss covered rock and wait,

you have grown more then I,
you are still young yet mature,
I have heard your voice and the song that follows,
I walk to you and whisper your wish, smile for me little sister like you used to,
I am home now and your hug is warm,
I love you little sister.
