When She Smiles
Days go by and moments fade-
Your heart breaks, like shards of stained-glass.
And just like the shards,
Your heart is still beautiful.
I wish so much more for you,
So much more then what this horrid world
Has ungraciously bestowed
Upon your insolvent life.
They always take and thrive from your virtues,
Always wanting just parts of you,
Never accepting the whole-
Trying to reduce you until your remains are black.
It’s just so lucky, how incredible you are
Because if you were anyone else…
You just wouldn’t be the caring friend
Who’s grown to be the axis of my world.
Remember you’re loved,
Remember what you mean to me,
And how much love you can project
Simply with your warm, kind smile.
