Today the rain felt as cold as ice. I sat at the bottom of the steps to my school. As I watched all the students and teachers pull out their umbrellas and leave school for the day, there was a slight breeze. It made my hair flutter about and the young student’s umbrella fall out of their hands. I shiver at the breeze that came at me. After a while a puddle of water had developed in front of me. I sat there for almost an hour. By then everyone was gone and I was left all to myself. I waited for the rain to stop but it only worsens. Now I was standing there debating on going home or waiting for the cold heavy rain to past. I looked at the puddle in front of me and ponder to take a step into the rain. The suddenly I heard someone calling me from afar. I took a look into the cold heavy rain and saw a figure running towards me. It called for me again. I took a closer look and realized it was my mom holding an umbrella in one hand and a briefcase in the other. My mother had just got out of work and knew I would forget my umbrella that day.
