Luna walked into the cemetery. Why am I here? She thought slightly dazed.
She walked through the head stones unsure of what she was doing when movement caught her eye. Who could be here at this time of night? Luna thought idly and glanced at her watch. The sun had left his position in the sky hours ago.
"Is someone over there?" Luna called nervously.
When no answer came she passed it off for an animal, a really big, animal.
The wind started to pick up sending chills up and down her spine. She felt like someone was watching her. Pulling her trench coat closer around her body she continued on deeper into the cemetery.
Luna wasn't sure why she had decided to come into the cemetery. She had just been taking her nightly walk around town when she had felt uncontrollably compelled to enter the cemetery.
This probably wasn't a good idea. Luna decided as she turned on her heel, fighting the urge to stay. It's really creepy in here and I can't shake the feeling of someone watching me.
Someone walked across the path in front of her down towards the streetlights. Luna practically jumped out of her skin when she saw the figure. Blinking a couple times she deemed it as her overactive imagination playing tricks on her. No one is here. She kept telling herself.
A stick broke behind her and she jumped turning around to find nothing but the dark cemetery. The hairs on the back of her neck started to stand on end and her heart began to race. She tried to speak, tried to call out to who ever was there, but a lump had started to form in her throat.
Instead she turned toward the exit and started to speed walk. Running is foolish especially when there is nothing to fear. Luna told herself in an attempt at calming down.
Her eyes were jumping from headstone to headstone, monument-to-monument, mausoleum to mausoleum. She stopped dead when her eyes fell upon a boy leaning against one of the old mausoleums. When she blinked he was gone. Fear flooded her body. It's just your imagination, she reminded herself.
A voice from behind her whispered, "Come to me."
She turned around searching for the origin of the voice.
The voice whispered into her right ear this time, "Come to me Luna."
Luna turned again. "Who's there?" Her voice cracked.
Overwhelming calm seemed to fall over her body. She walked unconsciously back towards the center of the cemetery. Luna turned off the path and walked over to an old mausoleum. The door seemed to be unlocked.
She reached out to open it but her hand fell short. I can't go in there. I have to get out of here. But curiosity won over reason.
She reached out, startled by how cold the handle was, and hesitated. She pulled it open but saw nothing but black; it hung heavily like a curtain.
A freezing gust of wind blew behind her and something pushed her inside the mausoleum.
Luna screamed as the door slammed shut behind her. She pushed herself up and tried to push open the door. Her efforts were futile though the door wouldn't budge.
Strong hands gripped her shoulders and turned her around tearing the trench coat off her. Luna screamed so loud it could have busted eardrums.
A hand fixed itself over her mouth. "Now, now. We will have none of that." An alarmingly seductive voice said.
He removed his hand from Luna's mouth once she stopped screaming and switched to crying.
She felt his breath on her neck and tried to push him away from her. He took hold of her wrists and pressed them up against the door above her head out of his way. He inhaled her scent deeply. "Mhm..."
He pressed his lips to her neck kissing her then brought his lips up to hers. Luna was unresponsive to him so he continued along kissing down her jaw line. Then he traced her collarbone with his tongue getting a taste for her.
She felt helpless standing there. She tried everything she could think of doing to defend herself and this didn't account for much. She kicked at him and even tried biting at him. Nothing seemed to faze him.
He chuckled amused. Inhaling deeply again he said, "You'll give yourself up soon enough."
What the hell did he mean I would give myself up? Luna thought, a fresh wave of terror running through her.
He started leaving a trail of kisses down her jaw line and down her neck to her collarbone. He started nibbling on her neck. Then he bit down hard. Her blood filled his mouth and he started to drink feverishly.
She felt the fangs sink deep into her throat. She screamed and tried to push away from him but he wasn't having any of that. He pressed his body up against hers to keep her from squirming.
Luna could feel the life draining from her body. Why me? Was all she could think.
She whimpered, fresh tears falling down her face. He let her arms drop to drape over his shoulders and wrapped his arms around her waist jerking her up against him.
All too soon she went limp in his arms, just enough blood left to let her cling to consciousness. He could hear her staggered breathing and slow heart beat getting slower with each passing moment.
He sighed as he knelt down on the ground laying her out in front of him. Her eyes were dull but there was still fight left in them, she wasn't going to die easily.
"Do you wish to live?" He asked, not really expecting her to answer vocally.
"Y-yes" She managed that one word before her eyes began to droop shut.
He deliberated a moment and bit his wrist. He let a drop fall onto her lips. Like a baby ready to feed, her mouth opened the slightest bit. He placed his wrist on her mouth letting her drink. She gripped his wrist and held it to her mouth.
After a few short moments he pulled her hands off his wrist and jerked it away from her mouth.
Luna sighed and her eyes shut with out her permission and she fell into a deep exhausted sleep.
He watched her as her eyes finally shut. She will wake up all too soon. He scooped her up in his arms and walked out of the mausoleum, disappearing into the night.
