The music was pumping and I was being pulled through the crowd by my best friend, Tracy.

"Trace?" I called, and she stopped and turned around.

"What's wrong?" she asked, and I winced as someone pushed past me, almost tripping me over in the process.

"I don't- I think I want to go home." I told her, and she widened her eyes.

"Come on, I haven't even showed you the surprise yet! Trust me, you'll love it!" she pleaded, shaking my arm around.

I sighed and shrugged.

"Fine. But I'm leaving right after this surprise or whatever." I said, and she grinned.

"Good. Now let's go!"

Then she was leading me through the crowd of people again, and when we finally broke through the crowd, I realized that we had gone outside.

"Trace, why are we out here? The party is inside!" I yelled, and she just glanced at me.

"Trust me." she said simply, and I continued to let her lead me down the sidewalk until we came to an alley where a large group of people were huddled around something.

"Here it is." Tracy declared, letting go of me and pushing through the group, gesturing for me to follow.

I followed reluctantly, suddenly feeling scared.

But she was my best friend- I could trust her, couldn't I?

As I took small steps toward her, I saw her with her head down, close to the table.

"Tracy, are you okay?"

She lifted her head and looked at me, a wide grin spreading across her face.

"You have got to try some of this, seriously!" she said, stuttering a little and sounding a bit too enthusiastic.

I continued to take tiny steps, and she sighed and just pulled me to the front where I gasped in horror at what I saw.

There were long lines of white powder, and Tracy handed me a small white thing.

"Sniff it up!" she told me, pushing me forward again.

I put the white thing down and shook my head.

"Tracy, I came here to go to a party. Not to take drugs!" I said, and as I started to walk away she grabbed my arm again, looking at me in the eye.

"Please? You'll enjoy this, trust me. I'm your best friend- I would never get you into any trouble or anything like that."

I sighed and picked the white thing off the table again, leaning down.

And then I sniffed.

Note: Okay, so, I wrote this just to say to all of those teens out there taking drugs- stop! You're making a serious mistake! Drugs might make you feel good when you take them, but the after effects are terrible. Even if your BEST FRIEND says it's okay and you've always trusted her, she's only doing you wrong by telling you to do these things.
