Pop a pill,

drink a swig,

never stop pushing till everything’s dimming,

one,

two,

three more sounds fitting...

just five sips until your mind is s i n g i n g.

Feel the high,

nothing matters,

when you look blurred you can’t hear the chatter,

when you look lost you won’t feel flattered,

and since you aren’t noticed...

you’ll feel your heart s h a t t e r.

Take the drive,

feels like flight,

through the wind you blaze

deep into the night,

but those sips you took earlier hinder your sight,

you feel so sensitive...

so soft in the l i g h t.

Lose control,

lose your goal,

don’t feel bad when your car starts to roll,

no matter the drug,

you’ll never feel whole,

so when the metal starts crunching...

so will your s o u l.

Blood starts flowing,

stains are now showing,

red escaping your body,

the deep puddle now growing,

mistakes were made,

but now you’re unknowing

of what might’ve happened

without

highs
