She was a woman who was imperfectly perfect

The one whose smile lights me up inside

But whose stare makes me tremble with fright

The one whose heart was as soft as can be

Though her word was law and was hard as steel

She was kind, caring and loving

She made sacrifices as vast as the sky

She hid her pain away from prying eyes

She was strong and persevering

Her aim was to ensure that the majority,

If not all, would be as happy as can be

Selfish that we were, we saw her love others more than us

But because of that, we became who we are now

Her legacy, hopefully in her eyes, her pride

There will never come a time that you will not be missed, Mom

Happy birthday from all of our hearts
