There was a time when time was abundant

And I spent it like pennies, years ago.

Then I felt a message calling, calling,

A message, bound in wisdom, for my soul.

It spoke of reason that was part of hope,

Wrapped with love and stored in my heart.

The message consisted of many questions,

Questions I should have asked at the start.

It bound me to its creed of structure,

Then cast me to winds that blow and blow;

As the storm raged, answers were being heard.

What kinds of answers? You do not want to know.

Then others spoke in more angelic ways,

Showing visions and calling out my name;

What was said, was done in picture form

Dreams of war, death, and of human shame.

I heard the whispers from the shadows in my dreams,

I saw the dreams that I could not understand.

I saw the Light that has shined throughout the ages,

He is the Beginning and the End of the plan.

When selfishness has left the human spirit

Replaced by self-less-ness, the spirit that is his,

Then the whispers from the shadows in all dreams

Will divulge, to the human race, who God is.
