Whispers faintly understood,

As hollow tapping upon wood,

As shadows pass when light moves by,

Soft and timid, as they should..

Who might speak of yesterday?

Those Midnight Trolls have much to say.

When no-one looks they whisper, whisper,

Then they laugh and stroll away.

Yesterday, was too soon gone,

It just packed its bags and wandered on.

I fear it's looking for greener grass

On some ones unsuspecting lawn.

Alas, the hourglass is running low

And me thinks that it is time to go;

Yet I shall linger until the last grains fall

Then glide past whispers dressed in soul.
