Does the sight of a spider make your skin crawl? This is for all you arachnophobes out there.

What is it about a spider
That fills so many with dread
Even a fully grown up man
Can go off his head.

And it's not just the big ones
That can induce a sense of fear
They can be so tiny that
I can't see them 'til I'm near.

Is it their legs, so numerous,
So long and many jointed?
Or is it the multiple pairs of eyes
In all directions pointed?

They build their webs in many places
A crack or a corner, a door
There's so many sites within a house
They'll convert to their own food store.

Their webs show up well in bright light
But you'll find they'll stick to you
When you go to brush them away
It's like wiping off super glue.

They don't really have a throat
Or teeth with which to munch
They dissolve their victims up
To make a liquid lunch.

But did you know that they will dance
If you'd like to tap away
They will move round in a circle
Or from side to side they'll sway.

I'll remove the spiders when
I'm bombarded by many cries
But I'd rather share my home with them
Than to have it filled with flies.
