A sunset sea, a windblown tree,

And a place to lay my head

The night has come and I am one

With God,

The world is shed.

The stars above display His love

And the ocean soothes my soul.

I love this place, this gift of space,

Yet

To God I’d rather go.

The wind plays tunes, like lullabies,

Among the branches of this tree

And I feel a yielding,

Selfless, state

Flowing over me.

I’ve grown to trust that God is near

And I try to plant some seeds to sow,

Yet it is true

That I long to leave,

To God I’d rather go.
