A dark abyss black as coal,

A heavenly scene among the clouds,

Or an eternity spent in Hell's Hole.

 

What fate lurks for us in the afterlife?

Perhaps a reincarnation, 

Or the pain of a butcher knife.

 

Fear grips the leaving who dread death,

As to what awaits on the other side,

After we have drawn our final breathe.

 

Death hides in the shadows of every corner,

Making its innocent victim's demise a corollary,

In-turn, filling this world of yet another mourner.

 

Mercy is not a word in death's vocabulary,

This criminal cannot be stifled by constabulary...
