Pt 3

It’s late and I don’t think it would be such a good idea to let a man come by.  I don’t know him like that and we were only coworkers 15 years ago!  Don’t worry, he’s just playing around, is what I told myself.  I said ok…come on LOL.  His response was: I’m serious. I get off at 9pm…is 10pm ok? Maybe there will be a good movie on.  I would love to see you.”  He would love to see me?!  I had to take a deep breath.  Should I?  Shouldn’t I? We can have a platonic relationship can’t we? I think we can.  He probably just needs a friend right now anyway. We’re two mature adults!  Why not?!  Ok, I said. But don’t have me waiting on you for no reason looking crazy LOL.  Then he asked me one of the questions that gets me weak in the knees:  Do you need anything?  Damn it!  I wish he would stop saying the right things?!  I’m trying to keep it friendly!  “No I’m good,” I replied.  While I finished doing a little something to my hair, I wondered what I should put on.  Something cute?  No.  That might turn him on.  A t-shirt sounds safe.  It will make him think I didn’t put much thought into it.  Yeah…a t-shirt.  When I heard the three knocks at the door I think my heart skipped a beat.  I don’t know why, we barley even spoke when we worked together!  Not to mention he has a fiancé.  Relax girl.  I opened the door to a man wearing a button down shirt, jeans and cologne that could put you in a heavenly daze.  We gave each other a big smile and a big hug.  I poured us a drink as we began catching up.  As we sat and sipped we ended up on the subject of relationships.  From the look on his face, he is damn near ready to pack his bags and say goodbye to his 5 year engagement.  I asked him if he believed in God and if so having faith is one way to please him. “If you feel you have done all you can do let God do the rest” I explained.  I guess he agreed.  After a couple of glasses of white wine for some reason I began smiling my ass off.  I was trying to stop because I was sure it was sending him the wrong signal.  Then he spotted them.  My feet.  I have really nice feet and this can be a problem for some men.  I should have worn socks, damn!  He complemented them and told me how important nice feet are to him.  And of course that made me smile, this isn’t going well.  Shortly thereafter he leans in and goes for a kiss.  Trying to be a good girl I turned my head and his lips, soft lips, landed on my check.  In fact they landed a few times.  What is going on, I thought?!  Why is he trying to kiss me?!  We don’t even know each other like that!  “Should we be here right now?  Do you trust yourself in this situation” I asked.  He said he didn’t.  He ended up on his knees, between my legs, with my foot in his hand starring deep into my eyes.  I felt myself about to let him take whatever he wanted but I quickly got up and told him he’d better go. That was close.  I’m so proud of myself!  The old me would have dusted off my TP2 cd, pressed play and be bent over my bed right about now but I have grown.  Before he left he tried his luck once more for a kiss but I won that battle too.  And I still have a huge grin on my face mind you.  That didn’t make it any better.  He thanked me for letting him come over as I walked him to the door.  I’m pretty sure I won’t be hearing from him anytime soon. You know how men are if you don’t give them what they came for.
