I dive into the pool
No one else is here, it's only me
The chill of the water rushes at me
I know that it can't be avoided, so I let it hit me
But it doesn't bother me
Nor do I care; I can't find it in me to care
I decided to stay under water where it's peace, and quite
I stay in the quietest spot in the pool
Where I couldn't hear the dog's bark or the cat's meow
Where I couldn't hear the birds' tweet or the horrifying roars
From the engines of the cars and trucks
Even the crimes were silenced, with their screams and the police
Rushing to the scene with their thunderous sirens
All that could be heard is the water that wanted to settled from my dive
I feel as though I was invincible and no one can touch me
More powerful than a bear's grasp
Now my breath is short
With it gone, I will rise to the surface once more
But before I emerge from this peaceful world and into the chaos of mine
I'll open my eyes and gaze at the tranquility I've never known
