There I was

Standing in the middle of my room

I was so still, so tensed
The stress taking over me
It caused me pain, fear, and anger
Conflicted thoughts whisper into my ear and leave
Only to whip around into a sharp u-turn to do their routine once more
Time seems dawdling as a single tear leaks from my right eye
Its sides off my cheek to start it's journey to the floor
It seems as years have passed before the tear hits the carpets uneven surface
I hear a burst of laughter, then turn my attention to the window
I see children outside singing with contentment
But this saddens me as I wonder
I wonder if I’ll be able to rid this feeling
I wonder if this feeling is eternal

Or will it stay till I met my unimaginable demise
