To my mommy dearest, I have a message

Why did you not seek the truths to my presage

You brought us no father, you brought us a brute

His is promises to foster irresolute

I was chastised and berated by his laugh

Meanwhile you spoke to us on his behalf

Why I am treated like the daily slaughter

I am a child you wanted, your daughter

No one dared to bother my testimony

Now, I deal with his constant acrimony

Mommy what is left of me, is but wreckage

This union much to rushed and much to savage

My childhood, my misery, are his loot

My anger, my hatred, this flowered their root

If your husband saw me as a golden calf

Would he willingly grace me an epitaph

I will not wait on his feet with rosewater

And refuse to become a drunken totter

Why must I need to stand on ceremony

My birth, a miracle, not a felony
