We laid in a bed that was partly pretend,

You sung something softly into my head,

The only things distant were worries.

I said not a thing,

As you put back your ring,

To return to the life where I wasn’t.

I braved out “My love,

Don’t leave me to rot,

Here with the bellhops and baggage.”

You replied “We are doomed,

And I also conclude,

That the ones we were once, were once good.”

Then the limousine slam,

and the record scratch said,

"She's gone. For the ones who are wondering"
