Have you ever been kissed by a devil?

How can you say you have never, ever been kissed by someone so terrible?

Have you been kissed by someone who lied?

Have you been kissed by someone who made you hurt so bad you wished you had died?

Have you ever been kissed by someone who drained you so much that you felt numb inside?

Have you been kissed by someone whom made you lose count of all the times you cried?

Have you been kissed by someone you can’t forget no matter how much you have tried

Have you ever been kissed by someone who made you forget about your pride?

If the answer is yes

And for a period of time that person made your life a mess

Even if it’s hard for you to confess

And even if you’ve moved on and found the best

Don’t be ashamed because we’ve always settled for less

But pride kicks in like a second wind and makes you digress

Makes you remember all of the games that devil played

Makes you so angry that you stayed

Makes you want to call up that devil and cuss and shout

But again pride shows up to remind you that that is not what you are about

Pride reminds you of the humiliation

Pride reminds you that that loving that devil is a hopeless situation

And although tears may fall

You know that’s not all

Because pride reminds you that although the devil was once a beautiful creature

But was cruel and ugly how he chose to treat you

And an ugly heart creates an ugly appearance

Yes he hid it will so you didn’t see it in him

So go ahead and let that devil flee

Because you are worthy of so much more that he can ever be.
